There is intense griefing going down at the darkmoone faire.
Current griefing tactics:
-Alliance are mounted up and stacking on the Sayge NPC. This makes it very difficult to click. I have tried reporting the players doing this and they are still standing on him.
-Naming characters after the Sayge NPC, such as “Saygea”, making the /target Sayge macro target the player instead of the NPC.
Since I am on a pvp server, i am getting killed instantly at the NPC. For the mounted alliance players, they are not flagged for PvP meaning there is no PvP solution.
This is all around 100% griefing. To add insult to injury the DMF buff has a 4 hour in-game cooldown making the current player experience very frustrating.
Is there anything being done by blizzard about this? Or are they okay with mass server griefing?
What do you propose Blizzard should do? Make it so you can kill level 4s and level 5s just so you can maybe get a chance at a buff no one really needs?
The inherent balance of the DMF location is that next month it’ll be right next to TB. You don’t need DMF this week. You don’t need it any week. Expect to die if you waddle into Elwynn on a PvP server to get your buff. That’s the point of the server. That’s the point of it being a PvP server.
I wish Blizzard would reduce the duration of all world buffs to 30m, so that only the speedrunners are left to care about them.
I propose either making an invisible wall around the NPC to allow players to at least have a chance of getting it or having GMs periodically check in to see if the NPC is being blocked and remove said players blocking the NPC.
Also, Just because you don’t need it to clear content doesn’t mean it should be unobtainable due to other player’s actions. You don’t need BIS gear, but players enjoy obtaining it. Just as some players enjoy stacking buffs for speed clears.
Blizzard has actioned this behavior concerning battlemasters before as zone disruption. But I feel that has to do with making it difficult to get to an actual zone (ie WSG as a zone).
In this case I don’t know if blocking an NPC would be considered as such. Kinda doubt it though.
If a bunch of players were stacking on a quest NPC would it be okay because “you don’t need that quest”? What if it was a quest for a BIS item? I think that would fall under griefing, don’t you think?
The situation i described could happen on a PVE server just the same? I suggest you reread the OP before making a comment on the thread. Unless you are simply trolling, which seems to be the case.
Yeah, that’s what I would say as well. Let Blizz sort it out.
We got DMF buff yesterday, and did so by waiting until relatively late and rolling in with 4 or 5 coalition guilds. There was around 150 Horde or so, and any Ally that flagged got lit up. If someone blocks the NPC, you’ve still got to work around it, but it doesn’t seem like this would be something Blizz considers griefing or actionable.
The two arent equals. Lets try to stay im the same area here. Hindering you from getting an unnecessary buff is in no way shape or form griefing. In fact id argue thats in the very breath of what PvP servers are.
Id be really surprised if they did anything more than laugh at it. Its pretty funny tbh.
