Intended Design?

Is it the intended design of classic that herbalism and alchemy are strictly not professions? You currently can’t farm herbs realistically outside of an instance. And as a consequence if you want to participate in the alchemy profession you have to purchase botted herbs (especially black lotus) which are spawn camped by (often flyhacking) bots. Genuine question for blizzard. Are some professions intended to not be utilized by players and only bots? That’s where the game is at. Is the feet dragging on fixing this so that the bots can make their gold first? Or is it just incompetence?

No, but it’s not for every class to just up and take whilly nilly. Why aren’t u tailor/engi/chant? Literally worst warlock prof.

I’m doing more than fine with herbs on druid tho. Like you wouldn’t believe. Stealth, move speed, ccsl, reduced fall damage etc. But you don’t have any of that.

Having Leatherworking (w/ Skinning) and Enchanting on my Druid(s) would be super convenient. Shame that won’t happen.

There wasn’t a whole lot of “intended design” in Classic. They just kinda cobbled together a bunch of ideas, and it happened to be amazing.

This is spot, on and part of why it was so good is because first they were not yet high on their own supply and second they were more or less rooted in older traditional RPG’s as a group.

Heelys hit the nail right on the head. You need to play this game as efficiently as possible. This is more important than school, job, family, relationships etc. Are you really trying to have fun and play the game the way you want on my Azeroth? Pathetic.

It’s true. So much of Vanilla’s success was by accident. Because it was just a game. Played for fun.

The more ‘fine tuned’ the game became, the less fun it was. That’s the inevitable outcome of obsessing over balance in an e-sport designed experience.

Same way with Thorium…these megaservers are killing us bc all the bots are bunched on 1 server instead of spreading out. Literally I don’t see how a blacksmith would get through thorium if they had to farm it without buying, what is it like 800 something

The wow_professions guide suggests 680. Def a lot.

A JC kit is going to have 50-60 bars, and maybe another 50-100 ore if you don’t get lucky with gems from mining.

I love TBC man but I don’t know if i can really fathom it with just 1 megaserver…

Funny enough, from a RPG perspective its actually very well balanced.
