Does intellect affect holy damage? From a dps standpoint will having some intellect pieces on increase SoComm damage?
Asking for wpvp purposes.
int increases spell crit, total mana.
interestingly socomm’s coefficient is 20% from +dmg and 29% from +healing.
int doesn’t increase damage/healing, that’s what +spd/+heal stats for.
But int is good for holy pally cause free flash heal from crits
It’s pretty much been covered but unlike in retail, intellect has no bearing on spell power and as such does not increase a spells damage or healing. That is a separate stat which is magical damage increase or healing increase (can also get specific spell school increases like frost damage for example)
Intellect as a stat only affects a players mana pool and spell crit %.
It’s main function is simply to allow you to cast longer before running out of mana.
To increase the holy portion of Seal of Command’s damage you would require increased magic damage, although keep in mind the coefficient in which it utilises is fairly low at merely 0.29. In other words, for every 100 spell damage increase you have you will do 29 additional damage.
If you’re interested in looking more into going that sort of route try having a search for spelladin (or shockadin) guides. Essentially they are Holy/Ret hybrid specs that take advange of the physical and magical damages of the spec to increase the damage they can deal.
Often through doubling up on really strong buffs that provide large benefits to spell power and attack power.
Nice thank you, I’ll check it out. Does 2h spelladin work?
Define “work”. Can you do decent damage with a ton of consumables? Sure.
Is it worth it? Not really. Just put your dress on and heal already. I have a new bedazzle pattern for mine.
Google / Youtube search for a player named Judgement for spelladin info. He’s put in alot of work going that route and has several raid vids and stuff of how they are in MC in this version of classic wow we have.
Lol! Truth is I heal dungeon runs, but I’m more into pvp
I’m actually in tank spec right now but i have been using a Holy/Ret hybrid spec that keeps all the healing ability for dungeons and does quite well in pvp with a good 2hander and some decent ret gear.
Now that’s the sort of route I’d take. To heal and do burst damage. Just so I’m clear, Ret gear is basically warrior gear right?
You want Crit/Str/Agi
I would actually prefer Agi over Str. Getting kills in the hybrid spec is all about getting the SoC proc and having enough burst to get them down before they realize they are low.
It works, but just as well as any other hybrid damage spec that is not to the same degree as the holy trinity of Mage/Warrior/Rogue.
It also requires quite a bit of effort to maintain at least for raid like settings where you stack consumables.
That being said it works well enough as both a healer (you pretty much get every good holy talent) and a hybrid dps and can be more consistent in PvP than say reckoning build which is dependent on reckoning procs from being hit.
Personally it’s my favourite hybrid build in classic, you don’t really lose much of import from the Ret tree whilst still getting every Holy talent you need to be top tier. Every other hybrid class is forced to sacrifice big talents to do that, Shaman losing Stormstrike or Nature’s Swiftness, Druids lose Leader of the Pack or Nature’s Swiftness.
Shockadin Paladins lose Repentance and Sanctity Aura which are pretty lol anway. The only real damage talents you miss from the build are 2H weapon spec and Vengeance, in return you get 31 points in Holy, pretty good trade if you ask me.
uhhhhhh how sure of that are you
No damage spell, anywhere, ever, should be increasing its damage with +healing.
not 100% considering they are internet sources and not straight from blizz, but here’s the stuff:
