Nice! RAM tuning is a pain in the butt if you have bad chips. Nicely done!
Nice. Didn’t try 4000mhz yet.
This guy pushed 5066mhz C20 at 1.6v, VCCIO/SA 1.3v.

I have never really had a lot of experience with gigabyte motherboards. I know you use one and a buddy of mine is going to do a new-build. He’s looking at getting the x570 Auros Master because the Crosshair hero is out of stock everywhere.
So I wanted to ask your opinion of the gigabyte aorus master. Should he get that motherboard or wait for a Crosshair hero to drop?
Go for Asus Crosshair Dark Hero. It’s the best. Gigabyte BIOS is rather disappointing.
Sadly he cannot it’s not in stock anywhere. He is also considering this motherboard and I wanted to know what your opinion of a b550 is for a 5900x.
This is probably one of the most feature heavy b550 motherboards I have seen. Oddly enough since it’s newer it also has the same vrms as the dark hero! It also comes with a Hyper M.2 X16 Gen 4 Card. So you can have up to 4 of them
I suggest be patient with the stock. There is possibility of X570S chipset coming as well. B550 is meh if you want lots of connecitvity.

Thanks for your tips. You pretty much confirmed exactly what I was thinking.
There is one thing I really like on the design of the Auros Master though. That’s the protective back plate on the back of the motherboard normally you don’t see that until you start spending 500+ aka the Godlike no need to worry about scraping circuits if you’re a little messy putting it in your case
Hardware is great for Aorus Master. The BIOS and software is a letdown.
Well thanks for the tip on that if he winds up buying it which he most likely will because it’s the only thing in stock and he really wants to do his build this weekend. It doesn’t look like a terrible option.
He’s not much of an overclocker anyway so I don’t even think he’ll even step foot into the BIOS other than the initial setup. He won’t overclock the Ram or the CPU he’ll just simply run DOCP profile. Hopefully he’s happy with it if he gets it
The hardware will keep him happy. As long as he stay’s away from tweaking, he’ll be fine. Oh, make sure the seller updates the BIOS as well. There is reBAR BIOS out. Currently F33i.
He’s buying it new but it has a bios flashback option so I don’t think it will be an issue.
That was the first thing I did back when I had AMD was use bios flashback
I run the GB X570 AORUS MASTER and so far it’s pretty good. I do like Asus product more but the Dark Hero is expensive and is out of stock in most places.
All of my motherboard purchases, save for an ultra-budget office build I did for someone once (which was a cheap MSI board), have been Gigabyte and they’ve been excellent for me. I’m not much of a tweaker though, I still have yet to do anything with my 6700k even though it’s supposedly a fairly easy overclock.
Much prefer the Asus bios over the Gigabyte one
Did Asus get rid of that stupid force fans to 100% if temps go over ~80c? One of the most annoying things when I was aircooling my 3900x when every fan will just ramp up to 100% cause it stayed at 80c doing misc things on your desktop for more than 2seconds.
Never had that problem with an Asus board, but I’ve never had an Asus mobo with a modern AMD chip
On asus you can control ALL of that with the fanexpert app. Always could You can choose what temp they ramp up at and to what % they ramp to.
I had to mess with the settings when I was on the 5900x before I went back to intel to get it to stop that crap lol Its a very handy app once you get use to using it. Asus gives you complete 100% control over what every single PMW fan in your case does! This is one reason why most people buy Asus Mobo. Their fan control
I have it controlling each of my case fans differently for best airflow. They all move at different speeds for different reasons. For example my intake fans ramp up slowly while my case exit fans ramp up instantly to get the hot air out.
Its AMDs boosting tech that does it. She just needed to learn how to use FanExpert to control that
I tried with the fan settings. If it hits 80c it will automatically crank itself up to 100%. I recall asus putting out an update that resolved it for other motherboards but never done it for the itx boards. Of course I don’t have an Amd build anymore so that is no longer an issue for me.
I tried it in both BIOS and whatever software suite that came with armory.
Maybe that’s it then I’ve never owned an ITX motherboard in my life only ATX
