Insufficient bag space!

When will we get infinite crafting mats storage?
When will there be an infinite bag for all the quest items?
We need bags for secondary suits.

32 slot bags are simply not enough for those who actually play the game!

No-one is buying the 34 and 36 slot bags nor the 38 slot reagent bags I put on the AH. /shrug

No they aren’t 5g each cuz the mats are expensive and cloth drops are pitifully low.

I bought 38 slot reagent bags for all my level 80’s
Nowhere near enough bag space.
Meat and Fish take up a lot of space, then there’s herbalism and mining… plus whatever else just accumulates from regular gameplay.

I do have to wonder what sort of junk people are hoarding that 4 32 slot bags aren’t enough…

Potions, food, second suit, etc
I have to wonder what kind of player is able to survive with so little carry capacity…

So potions and food take up 2 slots…What does “second suit” even mean?

What its like to be a tank.

Healing, mana, healing & mana, truesight, flasks…
Second suits are needed for those who like to do all the content in the game from delves/dungeons to raids. Different content has different stat priorities.

You do not need that many different potions. This is a hoarding problem

You still haven’t explained what a “second suit” is

If you weren’t a bank sitter, you’d know that we absolutely need that many different potions.
And I did explain exactly what a second suit is…

I’ve touched my bank exactly one time since the expansion started, and it was to open the warband bank to move some gear to alts

No, you didn’t. You said what they’re allegedly needed for, you did not say what they are

It is a second set of gear with different secondary stats. Some folks probably also run a PvP set and a PvE set.

No problem with normal bags but the reagent bags are way too small.

I “actually play the game,” and the bags are huge and more than enough space.

What on earth are you hoarding in your bags that ought to be in a bank somewhere that you don’t have enough room with 4 36-slot bags and a 38-slot reagent bag?

Now that our reagents stack so high, you need a total of 14 slots for herbing for HOURS (one for each quality level of each herb + null lotus + verdant seeds). That still leaves 24 slots open in the reagent bag ALONE for other reagents plus the other 4 bags you have for schlepping stuff.

(EDITED TO ADD: I was corrected below. I forgot Blessing Blossom. You need 17 slots for every herb type and verdant seeds. Doesn’t change my point, but given my snarky tone here, it’s only right I call out where I was mistaken).

Bag space is fine. As my follower in Skyrim says, “Why the ! are you carrying all that &@ around? Why don’t you sell some of it?”

Dude, hearth every few hours and put it away in your bank or mail it to a bank alt. I carry a second set of gear, buff food, regular food, water, potions, profession gear, fishing hat, quest items, etc., and I still have so many empty slots that I’ve hidden two bags to keep things neat on my screen (because they’re always empty). I’ve considered going back to 4 20-slotters just to keep things reasonable.

Now add losing the ability to use your guild bank and you’ll be in my world.

Just an FYI. I came across a 34 slot warband till equipped bag in Hallowfall high up on a corner at the big keep. Fly and look for the treasure chest o your mini map.

Not counting the reagent bag, my main is sitting on 34 slots x3 and a 36. That’s 158 slots of inventory. Once I factor in a second/third set of gear for PvP/tanking, all the consumables I generally carry, and a few other random pieces that pretty much everyone has (Hearthstone, Guild Standard, Darkmoon Guide, etc.), I’ve usually got about 80-100 open slots at the start of any play session. Even if junk is really starting to pile up, I pass by a vendor often enough that it isn’t an issue, and in the rare case that it IS becoming one I can either use a vendor from a mount, or summon my Warband Bank.

Even assuming only 32 slots x4 on a non-vulpera character without an authenticator on their account (Why?), that is STILL 144 slots. 32 slot bags are generally cheap enough that ANYONE with basic AH knowledge that’s been playing for more than a couple weeks should be able to afford them. Even if your only gold at that point has really come from quest rewards from 1-80 and you haven’t gone hog wild on the usual new player mistakes like buying severely overpriced gear that’ll last you all of two levels, you should still have the funds to get those bags.

And just to give an idea of how easy it is, I had 32 slots x4 on an alternate fresh EU account I sometimes play by about level 20. Granted, I’m carrying 19 years of experience with me, but I had the gold to cover it inside of two hours: one for gathering while questing upon leaving Exile’s Reach, one more for the funds to come back to me.

But, I’m going off on a wild tangent.
TLDR: What are you guys doing/carrying that is making 140+ slots not be enough? 0_o

You know, I wasn’t going to go into the full breakdown, but seeing the back and forth between you and Brea is making me do it.

I raid, I’ll alternate between Frost/Blood for both Heroic and Mythic dungeons for my guild, and while I took a break last expansion, I do sometimes enjoy a few rounds inside of a battleground.

So yeah, I’d say I “actually play the game.”

Once again, not counting my reagent bag, this is what I myself am sitting on as a baseline:

  • A set of PvP gear (15 slots)
MAYBE 17 slots if I want to be vain and coordinate a different shirt/tabard for a different mog.
  • A set of tanking gear (Variable)
Early days in the expansion so I’m actually NOT carrying this right now, but I do start to pack a set if it becomes needed in higher end content as Blood/Frost have different stat priorities. Actual amount will vary depending on how much crossover gear I can get away with.
  • Consumables (10 slots)
I’ll alternate items depending on exact content as I don’t want to blow my really expensive stuff on non-trivial things that need a slight stat boost without the total need for the high end items. This currently consists of two different stat foods, Algari Healing Potions, Cavedweller’s Delight (this is a combat potion CD rather than a healing potion CD), Bandages, Tempered Potions, Tempered Aggression, Alchemical Chaos, Algari Mana Oil. Lastly, I also carry Phials of Truesight for farming mining nodes.
  • Hearthstone
  • Master’s Hammer (I laugh at your repair costs!)
  • Bounty of the Harvest (Helps cut down on some of my consumable use for healing between pulls if needed)
  • Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide
  • Thermal Anvil (I don’t really NEED this, but I like to keep one with me just in case)
  • Guild Battle Standard (I’m sometimes one of the go to guys for helping to run/level alts)
  • Alliance Battle Standard (Don’t forget, I PvP in battlegrounds)
  • Stack of Skeleton Keys (Beats having to ask for a rogue)
  • Stack of Everburning Ignition (I’m a blacksmith if that isn’t obvious yet)

Assuming I’m carrying both sets of extra gear that I usually pack (remember, I swap between Frost/Blood/PvP, and we’ll call it 17 slots for all sets), once we factor in all the stuff I need and always have in my bags, this is still ONLY 53/158 slots. Even if we factor in a few random pieces of crap that I’m not realistically going to make a stop at the bank for every time I grab them such as Radiant Remnants, Coffer Key Shards, Globs of Wax, or any other random non-junk TWW item you can likely think of, I’m STILL only hovering around 83-88 empty slots at any given moment.

So, I’ll ask again: what in the blue hell are you folks carrying?!

While I wasn’t counting the reagent bag for general use as none of what I listed above can go into it, I’m now addressing it here. I just carry the 32 slot Simply Stitched Reagent Bag on all my characters. Even on a double gatherer (mining/herbs), I have NEVER filled this thing up all the way, and that’s even taking a wild 1-2 hour gathering session into account.

Once again: what are you folks doing that causes this stuff to always be full?

Only character that doesn’t really have enough bag space for me is this one, and that’s because a.) it’s my main, so I tend to hoard a lot of the fluff/flavor items like movespeed/glamour consummables etc., and b.) I don’t have a reagent bag equipped on this toon for some reason.

I should probably get on that.

When I started playing last night I had empty bags. I did lfr, normal, most of the M0’s, some delves, the weekly events, did some herbing, fishing and a bit of questing. Plus all the purple dirt piles that are littered everywhere.

I filled up my bags completely, I had:

  • 26 greens items
  • About a dozen warbound blues and 2 purples.
  • For each herb there are 3 ranks, verdent seeds, plus all the blue crafting items you get from herbs (not sure how many there are as I just sell them right now but it more than fills up my regeant bags)
  • Didn’t check but a ton of slots for fish.
  • 3 separate slots filled with battle pet stones.
  • 185 wax globs,
  • 1 slot each for flask, battle pot, oils, food, inky darkness, phial of truesight, and a bunch of rejuves it looks like that I looted from somewhere (this is one I don’t normally keep on me although with M+ I might use them as health pots.)
  • crackling shards
  • Rune from last expansion as its better than nothing.
  • 4 trinkets and 3 rings I need to sim or use for other sets.
  • Key shards
  • Radiant remnant
  • 3 recipes from I don’t know where but not for my professions.
  • Artisians Acuity
  • Spark
  • Coreway catalyst (not sure what it is yet)
  • Several different crafting sigils.
  • 9 quest items
  • 3 journals/ledgers (need to look up if its safe to delete.)
  • All the additional BoP items that dropped from everything.

I had to sell greys on 3 separate occasions last night and still ran out of room picking herbs so I just bulk dumped everything in my bags on the AH. I’m guessing when I get to play again on Mon the same thing will happen. Made just under 140K tonight though which isn’t to bad.

I honestly don’t know how anyone can’t fill all of their bag slots after a 10-12 hour play session, unless they are not looting things.

Stop hoarding, most of the materials you will never use. The other half it makes more financial sense to sell now and just buy when you need later, more often than not they will be cheaper when you finally get around to making that one classic pattern you wanted for tmog.

Want to add, I have one warbank tab dedicated to current crafting reagents, have just dumped everything in there and it’s still not even full yet despite leveling 5 characters. I set aside 2 at the beginning thinking I’d fill one up fast but this has not been the case.
