Instead of porting SoD items to retail, why not just have SoD unlock transmogs in Retail?

I haven’t really played much of SoD, but I definitely love the idea of it. It’s cool seeing things move in a different direction, and I hope they branch it out as its own little “alternate timeline”.

One of the things I thought was super cool was them adding unique Class-quests for new items. Yet something I felt kind of undermined that, was that those same items could just be purchased from a vendor during the Anniversary event (in retail), lacking any of the flavor, and their appearances also being available to all classes, robbing them of any identity.

SoD seems to have a lot of cool armor and mount recolors, and I’m hoping I’m able to level up quickly enough to check some of those things out. If anything, I could actually see it being more motivating to be able to unlock those appearances on Retail, for continuing to play on SoD.

Conversely, I would feel a whole lot less interested in playing SoD, if the new items just continue to be ported to Retail a bit unceremoniously. “Cool stuff” has always been a major reason to push through content, and just seeing the stuff made easily attainable on retail would be a bummer.

Just my two cents!

I think that transmogs in retail shouldn’t be locked behind needing to play a version of Classic.

The biggest reason for playing Classic should be because you find Classic WoW’s gameplay fun whether that be era, hardcore, or a season.

Blizzard also likely doesn’t really care a whole lot about the specific metrics of a single mode beyond “is this popular enough to warrant keeping around?”. As long as we’re logging into WoW on a monthly basis for their MAU metric and subscription cost, they’re probably happy.

Trying to convince everybody to play SoD seems like a recipe to mix people who don’t want to be there with people who will resent them being there cause they just want to get their cosmetics and get out.

I think cross transmog going both ways would be interesting… though I can hear collectors going insane from the concept of it.

I would like it but I see a lot of valid reasons for it not happening

is this a thing they’re doing?

If things you got in classic with the appropriate challenge level were also unlocked in retail i’d play the crap out of it. It going both ways so retail unlocks show up in classic is a bit much however since things are much easier to unlock there.

That’s very much how I feel. As long as you’re unlocking transmogs in the most difficult way respectively, it seems like a fine addition.

I’d even be down if they specifically wanted to say the Tier 3 sets are exempt, just to keep them rare on retail.

New legandary sword and undead paladins coming Aprile 8th.

Just add them to the tw vendor. Thwy could add the class quests too which I dont mind

There was a time this race/class combo would have upset me but after Draenei warlocks I’m just like “whatevs.”

What items?

And who is being robbed how?

No. I am not going to play some craptastic old versions of the game just to get transmog in the game mode I actually play.
