Instead of mounts in the cash shop why not Druid forms?

Have you guys ever considered putting Druid forms in the cash shop instead of mounts constantly?
Also are we getting any new forms in the next expansion the last time we got any was in Legion and that’s been a while?? Recolors of the Mage Tower skin would be nice in different parts of the games pvp pve snuff.

SL Mage Tower rewarded a Bear model.

The reasoning behind that is because there are no other obtainable werebear forms.
The ones from Legion Mage Tower are no longer obtainable.

As for new forms, they did update the cheetah model. Makes me more salty, tbh. They put the work in for it, but so far as I know, no way of using it outside a handful of zones once a druid gets flying.

That’s another form since Legion. There are also the baseline forms for the BFA allied races.

My comment is not on the want/need for new forms (I would agree that druids could do with more selection).

Is incorrect.

Actually, it came out in 9.2.

Okay…so now Druids have 2 unique bear skeletons… And there are actual 5 “unique” foirms. Meanwhile I can come up with over a million transmog variations on any of my characters. Pink? Done. Fel Green? Easy. Flaming Hot Cheetos? Don’t need to ask me twice.

See the issue?

Also, why was WoD cat form removed? What could possibly be the reason for that?

New shapeshifts, ghost wolf forms & warlock pet forms should be added every single expansion.

“oh but they have to make spell animations” … No they don’t. All animations are Auto Attack animations. Spells have animations and they act as an overlay. You can use any morph toy and you will still see Thrash and Swipe spell effects.

Sure, and 9.2 has come out since Legion. I’m using Legion as placement in time as the OP claims;

Sure, and I’m not arguing that issue in the slightest, the OP is claiming;

Which is incorrect…

I don’t think them adding in spec forms into the cash shop is a very good idea, considering we haven’t gotten any actual new ones since Legion, and I don’t think Balance has ever gotten a new form outside of the Allied race forms which don’t really count (someone playing Druid before they were added don’t get access to it unless they spend money on a race change just to do so, or level another of the same class). I feel like there would be some push back to the fact that they would be charging us for customization while we have barely even 1-2% of the available options that other classes get while actually in spec form.

Saberon form was removed because it was tied to a talent…which was removed.

Zandalari druids did get that cool Arakoa-type moonkin form, but yea other than that you are playing the same moonkin form since 2005. They may have done some minor graphical improvements to the form over the years but I’m not sure. If they have I wouldn’t even consider that an improvement tbh because the game is 18 years old.

p.s. Wow I’ve been playing this game for over 15 years.

Ah, I remember the good old days when there was no store and Blizz just beautifully enveloped cosmetics like mounts into the game.

The less on the store the better imo

First off, no forms should be in-game and not the cash shop.

Secondly, whether we get new forms really boils down to whether it’s a reskin of an existing model or whether or not it’s an entirely new model. This is due to the time and effort that goes into rigging & animating a model.

If the model is just a reskin, this involves coming up with a new color palette for the textures used on the model and then getting sign-off for those textures to be shipped.

If the model is brand new, as was with the Werebear, the entire skeleton has to be rigged and animated, and then that has to be rigorously tested with all spell animations and effects to make sure there are no major issues, i.e. wings from the faire attaching sideways.

But that said, the effort that went into the Soulshape system in SL certainly shows that there is potential there and if that system can be iterated on several times over an expansion with new shapes added, then I can’t fathom why druids can’t get forms.
