Instead of automatic silences

I know this most likely will not happen but due to the ease of use report function being added to chat 4 years ago, many have learned to abuse this feature, when it by no means is necessary, leading to tons of unwelcomed and annoying silences, abuse of silences, troll control.

I will just get directly to the point and make it quick my idea on how to fix this, if blizzard so wanted too.

  1. So the area that you go to turn into a guide (emissary) they should and easily could add a second option as to also be a guide from the same npc, so there would be being a (Player Guide) and also (Community Council) .

  2. The community council would be a highly important role, and that is reviewing reports, and being able to handle and fix such situations in the community as they occur…basically things would be handled like a personal GM back in the day only, this is solely our community, deciding what is best for our community.

  3. To be apart of the Community Council your account would need to be at good standing / fit all requirements for being a Player Guide, and you have to review / work on every report in as a group of 3 to answer or resolve. If you fail to respond to a ticket in 12 hours, you will be penalized and removed from the drawing pool of who signed to be apart the community council, and another be chosen. You can sign back up again if you miss a ticket, but if you fail to respond to a ticket again in 12 hours you will be banned a month from queuing into the council.

  4. To prevent toxic and unfair ticket reviews, the 3 players from the community council will be chosen at random from all who applied, cannot be grouped with same reviewer 2 times in a row, you cannot review every ticket, at most every other ticket so you cannot pick and chose the tickets to review.

  5. You could be given a title or a icon like the Players Guides, only as a Community leader, since this use to be a real job for blizzard and were paid real life money, I could see little gold or gifts or some kind of benefits from, satisfactorily reviewing a specific number of tickets.

To prevent gatekeeping / unfair reviews

  1. Three players are needed to Resolve / Answer / Open / Close / Transfer a ticket. All reviewing need to have the same outcome for the confirmation, so no 2 vs. 1, its all or nothing.

  2. Reviewers would be chosen out of the community council by random, nobody can review ticket after ticket constantly, max is one ticket after skipping the next, to remove reviewing own tickets, and or friends tickets.

  3. Reviewers are required to respond within 12 hours a ticket has been raised for review, or you will be taken out of the queue, if you are to do this again and miss another ticket you will have a ban on applying for a month.

  4. This is a possible solution for CHAT REPORTS ONLY, this is not a substitute for any serious threat (ddos/threaten in RL/hack/technical issue/Bug etc.

This is a rough draft / idea , let me know what your thoughts are, what could make it better, or if its just a complete waste of time, hopefully this account can post because well, silenced on others…yup…

Edit: Heyyyy its me, Erosego btw. Silenced until the 26th of November…:frowning:

You…do realise GMs review silences before they’re made official? The ‘automatic’ bit is only for an hour or so until the GM reviews it.

Blizzard is never, and I want to be absolutely clear here, never going to adopt any policy that puts players in charge of meting out punishments to other players.

Ever.

seems in another thread they mentioned being silenced till the 25th’ or so, boy oh boy cant wait to figure that out as well.

Also while im here, I wish the thumbs down feature was back. The worst that has done is just hide the comment where you can just see what it was like we do now and atleast give mods abit of a break from petty flag-raises that we do now. It wasent the best but eh, its the best I can think of.

ma’am this is a wendy’s

What a 5head idea, putting Moon Guard players in charge when we all know they never get in drama, can do no wrong, and would never possibly do anything like make secret tumblr blogs or discords to trashtlak others. Nothing could possibly go wrong here.

Players should not, in any sort of capacity, have any kind of moderation capabilities whatsoever. Players would not be able to handle it responsibly and would only serve to create an even bigger problem.

ps blizzard reviewed it and you earned it
gratz
if it was more than 3 days this isn’t your first time either, nugget
