What would you guys say to a glyph that changes the Affliction Warlock to match thematically with what a Necromancer would be?
Considering that Affliction Warlocks basically play the same way as Necromancers from other games, I think it would work. It would also cut down the need to have a separate class that would rob from both the Affliction Warlock and the Unholy Death Knight. Warlocks already suffered when Demon Hunters came into the picture and took a number of things from them…there’s no need to make it worse!
In essence, the “Glyph of the Scourge” would change the following things about the Affliction Warlock.
-Pets would become Undead minions that replace Demon minions. Imp becomes a Skeletal Mage, Voidwalker becomes an Abomination, Succubus becomes a Banshee, Felhunter becomes a Shade, Darkglare becomes a Death Knight lieutenant.
-Spell effects of many Affliction Warlocks spells and talents are changed to look more necrotic. Less bright greens and more blues/pale greens, etc.
-Spell names are also similarly changed to be more fitting for what a Necromancer would be.
-In addition there would be a few extra, mostly fluff spells awarded that would make one more feel like a master of death.
On top of that, there would be a return of some old-school armor models in the game fitting for a Necromancer that one could acquire to look the part.
And with all of that, we can focus on moving away from wanting an entirely new Necromancer class and look toward a new class that doesn’t already match a currently existing niche in the game.
What would you guys think?
