Seeing people open it instantly before/as it lands. Looks like mob-id or spell speed tampering.

Are you sure you’re not just seeing them render in late?
The crate instantly drops and can start to be opened instantly (it really needs a 20 second timer or something), but if you’re flying at it full speed you won’t render any player until you’re very close, which might make it look like they opened it instantly when in actuality they were there the whole time.
Can see the thing still circling and map icon hasnt changed- its a item ID ping hack. Been around since dire maul.
Just making sure you understand here. The crate drops instantly, meaning as soon as the plane reaches the spot the crate drops at, the crate is on the ground and ready to be opened.
The plane still flies around in a circle for a bit before disappearing, but the crate can start to be opened right away.
Basically if you’re not literally following the plane or already at the drop site, you’re probably going to miss it because someone will be able to open it before you get there.
In other words it goes like this…
Plane is flying… Plane is flying… Plane is flying… DROP! Chest is now on the ground and able to be opened! Plane is now circling… Plane is circling… Plane despawns…
And if you weren’t there when the plane reached the drop location, you’re probably too late.
Yes, See n the crate dropped as well, and instant opening. I can even point to the modifiers used client side. Same way people gather herbs in minimum GCD speed. Same way they gather the herbs without being there.
If you see someone hacking/cheating, right click report is best as it gathers up the logs and what not for easier processing by the hacks team. If you cannot right click report, or have extra info, like videos or details, names-servers, etc, bundle it up neat and tight and send it into hacks@blizzard.com.
