I always wondered if this particular brown spot of classic was something zealously defended by the nochanges crowd, and if so, then why.
Oh HELL to the yes on that. No real reason not to have instant mail. It doesn’t affect the feel of classic in any way.

The no changes crowd has Era.
Instant mail, especially between alts, would be a wonderful Quality of Life update.
It makes the world smaller, you might as well ask for instant flight paths and an NPC at the docks that teleports you instantly to the other side.

Instant mail is just common sense, but you are very out of touch if you think duel spec is not controversial lmfao.
How does removing the need to log out for 30 minutes each time you send yourself mail make the world smaller?
Bc it isnt lmao, is ur guild forcing you to swap specs constantly in raid like you said they would before?
Because every mailbox is now a terminal for the auction house/bank.
Instant mail between alts would be fine with me.
But no more than that.
I’m also okay without it.
Yea these antiquated systems need to go. Honestly I just mail something then log off and play another game and wait till the mail arrives. You want me to log in? Then start with common sense QoL.
PS - Put some portals to different zones too. Half my game time is waiting to play the game on some extended flight path, boat and running.
They sort of still are, especially if you have a few bank toons. If I need a specific mat from my bank, most likely it will require a hop on to an alt and an hour wait. Most of the time if i need something of the AH, I do the same and take the wait time. It’s not what I would call fun game design, regardless of any supposed realism.
Mostly, I just want this to swap between alts and I am not sure how much having multiple characters hold up in your realistic view in the first place.
how bout instead you just keep playing the other game like retail for example and leave classic stuff alone with all that portal garbage?

They already are, and purchases made from the auction house is instant already. The change to instant mail between characters on the same account would simply eliminate the tedium of needing to wait for your items to go between characters. A large number of players if not a vast majority utilize bank alts to handle their auctions and storage anyways, removing the need to wait 30 minutes to receive your own items would simply eliminate the tedium.
Classic is a good game with terrible QoL design that ruins the players experience.
Retail is a bad game with great QoL design.
How about in SOD we combine both and have a great game with great QoL that is worth playing. Stop championing to keep terrible design that makes people log off.
You people that say play Retail have no understanding of WoW or what is going on.
PS - Random Dungeon Finder was the best Classic feature ever added into an MMO and every MMO is better with it.
they would probably break the game somehow adding it
that exact qol garbage is what killed the game and made it a “bad” game.
its all those tedious and time consuming things that you have to overcome that make the game so rewarding but you wouldnt recognize that if it hit you in the face and called you sally.

Wrong. Dead wrong. No one wants to play that game anymore. Especially SOD players who are looking for Classic + which means better features that come with a good modern MMO.
You are looking for Vanilla and that is a game I’d never play cause it’s waste your time. Most WoW players today are older and don’t want their time wasted. They want to get into the game and actually play.
WoW players have less time these days. They want to enjoy the game and not have their time wasted. SOD is about doing NEW things. NEW ideas, NEW content and design, not the boring old bad antiquated design of 2004.
WoW players want to log in for 1 hour and accomplish something and have progression. lets do that. Like most, I’ll wait till next phase maybe SOD will get there eventually.
