The reason I care is because this hurts the normal raiding experience and smaller guilds will 100% die because of LFR.
Why join a guild and do normal when I can do nothing, and get gear that’s 90% as good.
Building platforms for the lowest possible denominator is never a good idea in any game. If you give people an out where they can do 20% of the work and get 80% of the benefit, they will take it every time.
LFR is a deathknell for regular raiders… since they can take the easy way out, press a button, then press 1-2 buttons for 10 minutes and get free loot.
Why guilds and raiding in retail is essentially dead… most people just do LFR and call it an expansion. Why Retail has no community. Why in retail nobody chats in channels, or knows who anyone else is.
it all starts right here… queued raiding. The most vital part of team work and relationship building in an MMO… the second you strip all of that away… dead game.
Lol… no LFR. Glad they are “listening” to the community, where even the anti-LFR crew were in support of it returning in MoP.
I don’t know who they are listening to, but it isn’t the WoW community. My guess is that they didn’t have the budget for it, so it was cut. Nice to see that they are so short sighted that they don’t factor in the sub revenue they are going to lose when the casuals quit / don’t even bother to return.
This happened back in late 2012 when it was first introduced? Not the case. I joined a smaller guild during Throne of Thunder and it grew big time. You seem to like to overgeneralize to extremes that did not exist or happen.
Lol. SoG gear for LFR was iLvL 528 and normal was iLvL 553 with possible Warforged bringing it to 559. Even at 553, thats 25 iLvL and a substantial difference.
So why would you join a guild? If you wanted better gear and to do more challenging runs compared to LFR, of course.
It still really comes down to every person having the choice to raid in LFR or traditionally. Your arguments here are all generalizations based on people only making 1 choice, to raid LFR. As if we all don’t have the choice to stay away from it if we don’t like it. Sure, take the “easy way out” as you put it, but you won’t be getting the top-line gear. Thus most dedicated raiders say no thanks to LFR and raid normally.
If your guild breaks up because of LFR, it wasn’t a good guild LMAO. Plenty of great guilds exist on retail just fine. You just want to be forced to be social and force others to play the way you do.
What about me? I’m in a raiding guild but all my alts won’t raid now. LFR is also great for those who miss a raid night and want to still get a little progression, great for newbs, great for ultra casuals like my gf, great for disabled people as well. All you’re doing is harming others’ enjoyment and dictate how they play the game because your weak guild could possibly die? Lol yikes.
And no, LFR gear isn’t 90% as good. Literally making up numbers.
Lmao it is NOT working perfectly right now. People are raid logging, for pugs people don’t get invites based on amount of gold to spend or class or achievs or ilvl, etc. And most of the GDKP runs, the buyers are sitting afk just like there are afk people in LFR…
I know of MANY people who picked up raiding when LFR came out because of how accessible it made raiding.
It would definitely not “break” anything. Just give a less toxic space for those ultra casual or alts or disabled or newbs. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.
Character progression. Say I’m in mostly normal raid gear but still have a quest cloak. Hey this LFR cloak ain’t a bad little upgrade before I get one from normal or heroic.
And plenty of would-be players are cancelling their subs because newbs in normal raids get toxic people ripping into them. LFR is a great place to practice raiding… even for seasoned players on characters/roles they’ve never played before.
I havent played since naxx 80 and just returned to Cata… Ive been raiding no problem via pugging.
The LFR gear we get from the twilight dungeons is perfect. Im 390 Ilvl, exactly what everyone is asking for… and I get instant invites. They dont ask for achievements, or my gold.
Just 390 ilvl req. and I get invited.
Making up stories that dont exist because you are lazy is baffling to me.
Literally zero substance to your reply addressing none of my numerous points other than “LOL LFR TOXIC TOO”… What a joke lmao. You’re not even worth talking to at all. Embarrassing.
Your entire reason why they should ruin WoW just like they did in Retail is so disabled people can play.
Ruin the game for the 99.9% so “disabled” people can play. Fitting your take on LFR… Its for disabled people who have the inability to press more than 2 buttons. This mythical disabled person that doent exist in the first place… LOL
Yup lets create a game mode for people to not talk, not press their buttons, not care about anyone else, and get showered in free loot thats super good. All to cater to this mythical person that doesn’t exist in the first place.
Imagine having this “logic” in your head and thinking its a good idea.
This isn’t a bad design and I will die on this hill.
Not being able to raid log is forcing people into doing chores and making raiding less accessible.
The problem is that there’s little reason to not raid log. LFR gives people with a little more time on their hands than the rest of their guild something to do outside of raid night. And with the existence of H+ alongside it, people who do like to just raid log won’t be pressured to participate in it
Well in cata that would be true to one point but one of the way to add content in classic is to play alts. This can add a lot of time if one character isn’t enough then 2 or 3 or more will be. This should be less of an issue in mop as mop has tons of side content.
And yes with H+ you might actually be able to raid log faster than with only LFR and I don’t mind personally to have both that way.
“Your Battle.net World of Warcraft® Subscription - 1 Month is now canceled”
“Your Battle.net World of Warcraft® Subscription - 6 Months is now canceled”
You read my point backwards. It’s not that people are raid logging that’s the issue. It’s that LFR gives them something else to do if you love raiding. I love just kicking back and doing some LFR’s outside of my guild’s raids.
You’re the one who wants to dismantle the entire social structure of an MMO so mythical “what-ifs” can enjoy the game for a couple weeks before they quit.
If there wouldn’t be H+ then there would be incentives to, but like I said in a world with H+ I have a lot less objections toward LFR. So while I understand your point of view that still feels like you were putting raid loggin as a bad thing to me which is why I answered that way.
Lmao putting words in my mouth again. You’re not a good arguer nor are you very smart.
Say inv to a pug that’s either GDKP or MS>OS or SR… such social structure!
Retail has had LFR since the end of Cata. And while people have complained. Guilds are fine and are fun. You’re the one who doesn’t want to put effort towards the social aspect if you can’t find a good retail guild.
I just feel like funneling those who would be in LFR to spamming dungeons through the queueable dungeon finder is not helping the game socially or giving those players any kind of rewarding epic experience that raiding brings. Even if it is LFR.
