Damn. I already made plans to get my character and professions ready for MoP and I was really looking forward to this part of the Classic series. MoP was my favourite expansion that I’m remembering fondly to this day and I couldn’t wait to jump into it and experience it all again in a somehow authentic manner.
Now I’m out. I don’t want anything to do with this. I don’t have the time and motivation anymore to deal with the hassle that’s manual forming of groups these days. LFR would’ve provided a somewhat satisfying alternative to proper raiding and experience the raids just like they were back then. What a shame.

Just join a guild? Most people dont want to do that, thats why we join guilds.
When I don’t have the time and motivation to consider proper PuG raiding, I also don’t have the time and motivation to join a guild and dedicate myself to two whole evenings a week to clear these raids. That’s what LFR is for.

Then respectfully you arent playing the right genre if you cant set a few hours aside to raid. Also two “whole” evenings? That literally only occurs the first few weeks when its during prog, and since you talk about LFR being your main way to raid if you joined a normal only guild you can easily do all the raids in one evening. LFR was supposed to be in MoP, they changed their minds, theres plenty of alternatives you guys simply choose to ignore.
And theres plenty of opportunities to do that. You guys just dont want to put in the effort to do so, which I can understand but its a self inflicted issue.
Does anyone else find it interesting that the handful of anti-LFR folks on these forums (there’s a total of about 6 of them spamming 24/7) are so filled with hate and disdain for their fellow players and even the game itself?
Meanwhile, those who support the inclusion of LFR so that players with less time or skill, or disabilities can properly experience one of the best expansions in the game’s history.
Just something I’ve noticed while reading these threads and comments. I’m not sure why Blizzard would want to align themselves with the former, but alas.

no they dont. most people who dont join guilds don’t have time for guilds, so they use the looking for group finder.

I find it interesting how the forums were effectively dead with the same 20 or so people talking then all of a sudden a bunch of people started spamming the page with LFR posts. I wonder if these people even play the game or classic itself or are just tourists who wanted to have a bit of fun during the first phase then quit right after?
I frankly dont care about LFR being in or out of the game, I just think its hilarious how a lot of you guys are able to make 90 different excuses about how you ALL have such a weird and inconsistent schedule that you are unable to raid in a normal raid environment.
And you dont have to join a guild, theres plenty of other ways to raid without being in a guild. I joined random groups each week during WOTLK P1 because I myself couldnt commit to a schedule and managed to always get into groups and raid each week, because I put effort into finding groups that worked for my schedule.
Like I said earlier, the forums have essentially been “dead” with the same 20 people posting, all of a sudden theres dozens of you guys spamming the forums with LFR posts. I wonder why that is, but we are the bots right? lol
It is odd, isn’t it? The level of vitriol is so out of proportion that it seems personal. As if the mere existence of LFR threatens something so vital to their sense of identity and self worth that they will spend countless hours spam posting in a spit-flinging rage against the mere notion that some people want it back. It’s really weird.

Right except there’s not. It’s not a matter of effort it’s the there’s literally times where finding a pug and then running it is just not a valid option.
Whereas with LFR it is.
please revert this. some of us can’t find the time to raid and get a group. legit the same reason you added rdf! casuals wanna play the game too! lmao. its so backwards, youre doing it for retail, making the game more solo/casual friendly so why are you changing crap here?

Because Blizzard is changing their design to reward the top % of people while stuffing it to the casual players. Casual players are the lifeblood of games, they dont go anywhere without a casual playerbase.

This is an absurd statement, considering that LFR has been part of the game since Cataclysm and is also part of raiding with other people, lol. Don’t worry, I’m in the right genre.
So I still have to dedicate several evenings a week for raiding for quite a while. You’re just proving what I’m saying. And guilds often don’t take it very well when people just log in and socialize for raid evenings, so in theory I would have to dedicate even more time outside of raids. My life has changed, I don’t have time or interest anymore to play on a set schedule with responsibilities.

Good news! Classic has a lot of dad guilds out there that raid no more than 3 hours a week on just one night.
