They bring nothing but mass lag on reset day. Put them in some instance or something.
I agree but we’d have to stop calling them World Bosses.
They could always just drop them on a clone of some instance that thematically matches, add a little sign-up thinger. Like those legion worlds that we saw all of 3.8 square feet of.
Doesn’t even have to be sign-up, just a portal that leads into seperate instance.
Seems like it would only create longer wait times.
Wait times?
The biggest problem with world bosses is that they melt Blizzard’s world servers. That’s it. Whatever implementation Blizzard wants to go with that stops the servers from crapping out is worth the cost.
maybe they could phase us out so that it doesnt lag the server? idk how servers work so i cant begin to address a solution.
But I love corpse running to one and then standing in one place while the boss doesn’t spawn and is it in a diff shard or it spawns lots of garbage trash and lags the place.
didn’t see much lag in Pandaria, even when making this mess eight years ago

I just flew into in-between and before reaching Maldraxxus got dismounted and “instance not found”. Now I’m stuck falling into oblivion for eternity.
If your servers can’t handle world bosses, instance them.
I wonder what different conditions some people are playing under (location / graphic cards / poor internet ?) are causing lag for them, because I haven’t experienced any of these lag related to SL world bosses on my 2 level 60 characters at all, and I’m playing on NA servers from across the Pacific Ocean (Japan).
The worst lag I’ve had in game has always been the Nazjatar lag caused by Ruin/Ruinous.
Well here on EU our servers are terrible, so on reset day the zone lags so hard you can’t even cast spells.
Now I’m stuck falling in between zones and can’t open support page for unstuck because apparently support servers crashed or something.
You’re complaining about EU servers lagging on the US forums?
wow, i’m glad that i play US servers, that sounds rough…
Maldraxxus was horrible yesterday after the reset. However, I would much rather put up with a small window of lag time than the river of complaints of people being rejected when asking for an invite. People would be getting turned down left and right because their ilvl was too low (like heroic warfronts). This would cut off one of the few avenues that casuals have to increase (however slim) their gear level. The groups would be dominates by hardcore players looking for a fast kill to get the guaranteed reward and move on.
Also, not saying there is never lag in other places but this week was extremely poor planning/bad random coincidence. The weekly world boss was essentially sitting in the same quest zone for the daily calling-and probably one of the tougher ones at that. It is a safe bet the majority of the population that was logged on was located in this small corner of a single zone at the same time.
At this point in the Xpac, I’m pretty sure that none of the “hardcore players” needs a mere ilvl 207 loot anymore, and not at all concerned about players with low ilvl joining the world boss kill group.
Most just go kill it to get the 250 anima.
This is what I meant to focus on with “guaranteed reward.” The rest would be vendor trash. Should have been more clear.
Yeah, more like… Word Piñatas!
Or ya know man, you can just not do it on the first day. You do get a week.
Better yet, have servers that are capable of handling multiple players attacking the world boss simultaneously. Either way, the lag issue needs to be dealt with, it is absolutely unacceptable in this current format.
It’s bumming the entire zone. You don’t have to be near the boss for it to happen.
