Instance lockouts are account wide now?

I don’t remember being locked out of instances on my alts because my 60 druid was farming crowd pummelers.

When did they change that?

Glitch in the matrix?

I went into DME on my warlock and decided to switch to my druid and grab a pummeller. 4 resets on my druid and I was locked out. went onto my mage to test and was able to enter dead mines but was locked after 1 reset.

Lockouts have always been character based… do I only get to raid on one character now too?

This is correct, b/c you only get 5 IDs per hour - but carrying to other toon, I was not aware of it being account-wide. Thx for info.

Yes it is account-wide. I do arena runs on my warrior, and when he’s locked out, my alt-mage also got lock out.

Raid instance is different. I can raid both on my warrior and mage.

Is this a classic only thing? because the last time I played retail a year ago you could farm instances until lockout on every character you had.

Weird this makes sense tho because i have gotten a few phantom resets that made no sense

Instance lock outs have been account wide since at least tbc (when I first found out myself)

I found this odd myself but…its to prevent the gold farmers or neckbeards from making four level 60 mages and endlessly farming gold.

What’s wrong with that? Shouldn’t there be an incentive to having multiple 60s?

I can see instance lockout for a specific instance for all characters, but only being able to enter 5 instances total over 10 characters is stupid.

Mind you I am getting locked out for just zoning into the instance, not even killing a boss.

They have always been account wide.

did you wait at least 30 secs before you logged in another char? Sometimes if you login immediately to another toon youll still have lockout unless you stay logged for around 30 secs

Between farming DME and getting to gnomer was at least 5 minutes… I dunno.

Lockouts are account wide on classic and retail. It is ten on retail. You just forgot about the limit.
