Instance Cap

Is the instance cap currently still 10 per hour?

Is there a way to see the cap with an addon or something so I know how long I need to wait?

I have a lot of stuff I want to collect and it would be nice to have some visibility on it. If not…Ill keep doing the way I have been.

Figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

This addon claims to be able to do it. No promises, just found it when searching

“Tracks Blizzard’s 10 instance per hour per account limit”

https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/saved_instances

I use it all the time, it’s pretty accurate. not perfect, but better than not tracking.

When I looked it up it said it was for an older patch like 1.13 or 2.4.3 or something I think. Maybe I was looking at the one for Classic?

Maybe it works for both? Ill check it out for sure as it makes it easier for me to plan what Im doing.

Can I hit the cap and see the timer on an alt?

I have mats to farm for Profession appearances I dont have so I could do that while I wait for the timer.

Edit:
I had to be looking at one for Classic or TBC that link obviously is for Retail.

Thanks for sharing it!

hm. I’m not sure it works across alts. you’ll have to try it. I think it might but don’t quote me

Alright Ill check it out once this pesky work stuff is out of the way. I hate these 5 day 8 hour CDs for gaming.

Very inconvenient.

seriously. I could be camping rares for mounts right now.

Ya every 5 days I lose 40 hours of farm time…not convenient…

I am making the poor decision to farm everything… Started with stuff from dungeons by continent. Eastern Kingdoms first!

have you discovered All The Things yet?

it’s a resource hog, but it’s awfully satisfying to watch those bars fill up

Yes I have that addon. Thank you for linking it that though! I turned off the main window I think it was some time ago and cant remember how to turn it back on but I have the mini window that shows you stuff for the zone you are in.

I am also using CanImogit which I think is where the marks on the top right corner of icons comes from that indicates if you have it or not or have its appearance from another item etc. Very handy!

Its quite a daunting task but since I want everything that’s still attainable I have plenty in greens alone to get in addition to boss drops…toys, mounts, pets, etc.

As far as I know you can’t see the greens that can drop from a mob in the zone you are in like say Scholomance. Is that accurate? I can see the zone BOE drops but its a rough drop rate for those so far so I mainly focus on the Boss drops and consider the BOE stuff a bonus.

Hey guys - about the timer on alts for Saved Instances. Yes. I use it for farming mounts in heroic instances and raids. I leave it on my minimap and it tells me across every character how many I’ve been in and how long til I can go in another one.

You also get a warning when you enter the 9th and 10th instances that you’re about at limit.

That’s excellent thanks for the clarification.

How accurate is it and when it isn’t, how significant is the inaccuracy? I’m not looking for perfection but I wouldn’t want to think I can do another instance in 5 minutes and find out its actually, say, 45 minutes O_O.

Very accurate, 0 complaints from me. Now it doesn’t go into seconds but it will have like, say 5/35 minutes on the timer. That means I’ve been in 5 instances and in 35 minutes my timer will reset. Not reset to 0 but one saved instance will fall off. It makes sense when you use it. Have been using it the past few weeks now, love it.

That’s going to be VERY helpful thank you for sharing Mute!
