Inscription: Treatises granting only 1 Knowledge feels kinda bad

As both a crafter of these, and as someone whose alts and guildmates want to use/love them, these don’t feel very good. 1 point per week is kinda lame. Even the occasional multicraft kind of feels lame because you can’t use the second one that week.

I wonder if we could specialize further into Treatises and be able to craft rank 2 and rank 3 versions of Treatises that grant that many more points of knowledge per week?

Or hell, could the base treatises change to grant 2 points per week as is?

As is, it just doesn’t feel very exciting/good, even if it’s going to be good over time. Right now, I can’t really get any bites for public orders, and most of my guildmates don’t care either, even though they all want knowledge. Sourcing all the mats or buying them feels too expensive (either high-time expenditure or high-cost expenditure) relative to the reward – one measly point of knowledge.

Thoughts?

This would be great.

ranks for treatises would be pog af, kinda like the neck enchant situation, you can only use a rank 1 for your first socket, a rank 2 for your second and a rank 3 for your third each week. For treatises you would need to use 1 rank 1 treatise, 1 rank 2 treatise and a rank 3 treatise to get all 3 points each week.

The mats outweigh the reward. They are horrid. I am a scribe and made a couple today through work orders and shake my head every time I see them…the PK should not be so hard to obtain.

Okay, reading these replies gives me confidence that I’m not way off base here with my original post. I really think something needs to be changed here so that this feels more rewarding. Either the mats cost should go down, or ideally, the reward needs to go up somehow.

A single point of knowledge per week just feels terrible. Can’t get anyone excited to buy from me, even most guildies.

Another idea to at least make scribes feel better about choosing to specialize in this: perhaps we could make improved treatises for ourselves and our alts, at least?

Just bump the initial one up. Blizzard constantly goes down the drip feeding route because they have classic wow on the brain or something that they manage to screw a lot of good things up.

The rank idea is OK but honestly we have way too many ranks going at any time and it’s bop if I remember.

We have way too many mats, ranks, left over things that it’s become quite a mess IMO.

Bump the initial craft to 2 or 3. This longplay Blizz wants people to do is gonna have the anima price effect all over again where you’d see an item that will take you weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks to get cause you were only getting a drop of anima every so often in the beginning.

It’s fine.

If you want to max your KP every week, it’s reasonable. Some KP are easy to get, some take more work - this is one of the ‘more work’ ones. This is very consistent with Blizzard’s philosophy on game activities. And it’s totally unnecessary for people who are more casual.

It isn’t :person_shrugging:

If you could take a different path…you could almost make it to 100…but having to unlock another spec AT 100 JUST FEELS BAD.

The amount of mats for a Treatise 1 KP, is ludicrous. Blizzards needs to fix professions and the crafting order system…there should be no short end of the stick when it comes to this part of gameplay. Just because someone is on a low pop server should not mean they get overlooked.

I have been on my server since 2005 …there is no reason I should have to server xfer to do the things ingame that are supposed to be available to everyone.
