Inscription Quest - Brush WIth Death

Same. I am not being transformed into the quill. I have no vehicle frame. My character is stuck standing on the scroll unable to move. No exit vehicle button. Only option is to abandon quest.

Running into this problem for a few days now. Super broken. They appear to be aware of the bug though. I hope they fix it soon!

Edit - not that this is a shock to anyone. I submitted a ticket in-game to see if Blizzard would get a GM to complete it for me. After all the quest isnt asking me to do any combat and most could complete it on their own in minutes. And they said that GMs are not allowed to give quest credit, assist with kills, or perform actions on behalf of a player. If thats the case, what ARE the GMs allowed to do?

It has been 30 days since they were first aware of this problem. Just give it another 6 months and they should get to it. :weary:

Same issue here. I hope we get a fix soon. I really want my TotT for Inscription before Shadowlands releases.

My plan at this point is to just keep making tickets until they do something. I encourage you all to do the same. The worst they can do is reply as above, but then there is a record they can pull to see how many people are being affected.

Same issue here teleported onto the scroll and all I can do is turn around.

I made a second ticket with Blizz. citing the support page where they acknowledge its a known issue. A GM sent me a whisper in-game while I was on an alt and attempted to complete the quest for me.

After an initial period where the character was unavailable for play for almost 24 hours, the quest is now completed by the GMs and I am able to continue.

Please, I encourage you all to submit an in-game ticket for this as it seems they are aware enough of the issue to allow the GMs to complete it for the players.

My initial description was as follows:

Quest: Brush With Death
Issue: my character appears on the scroll that he supposed to draw runes but nothing happens. it gets stuck till I abandoned quest. Retaking quest, disabling addons, reloading UI is not helping. I cant get my recipe.

Same problem!!

Another week and no hotfix for this. Come on Blizz, I’d like to get my new characters finalized before Shadowlands starts. Finishing their professions is part of that. I don’t want to come back to BFA a few weeks into SL, I want to be playing the new expansion.

I’m having the same issue :frowning: help Blizzard!

Same issue. still not fixed as of 11/04/20.

Having same issue as original poster. Teleported and unable to move, have to drop quest, and cannot progress.

I just put in a ticket and got a canned response back too. I re-opened the ticket fingers crossed

Having to have a GM logging in on my character and “completing” the quest for me while making my account unavailable to me for close to a day? No. That’s not a bug fix. Fixing a bug means making a quest playable by the account holder.

I’m having the same issue. I opened a ticket.

I agree with you there, but it meant that I could carry on and achieve my goal of getting the tool of the trade. So while its not ideal, if no one makes a ticket and forces Blizzard to spend time helping people (these GM get paid, and them taking time to help us costs Blizzard money, and money talks) then they arent going to prioritize a fix.

I work in IT doing Production Break/Fix change management. You would not believe the amount of problems get ignored because its below a certain threshold of the amount of money and time needed to fix it vs. the % or customers affected. Blizzard is no different.

Edit - Your mileage may vary RE: the character being unavailable, its possible the GM that helped me goofed a bit on something.

Edit 2 - To be clear, it was just that character, not my whole account. I could play the game on other characters just fine.

As good a reason as any to wait for an actual fix.
