Inquisitor spec

Wouldn’t this be awesome? A ranged dps spec for paladin, where they use crossbows with silver bolts and guns with blessed bullets.

I’ve always thought a shadow spec for paladins where they dual wield and go zealot/blackguard would be cool, but I suppose an inquisitor/purification spec would be easier and less against the grain.

That’s absolutely amazing sounding TBH. I’d play that.

That being said, instead of doing cool things with classes, we get Torghast. I think the innovators at blizzard checked out.

I knew we were in trouble when they couldn’t even think of a third spec for DH.

Some part of me wishes that Blizzard would bring back the ranged weapon slot, and then let every class put actual ranged weapons into it—if they wanted to make a Tinker class, they’d probably need to do that.

I keep wishing Blizzard would return Denounce, but if they added ranged weapon support to paladins at a class and added something like Divine Shot that had no cooldown—that’d be just as good, really! (Though Denounce would still look amazing with our spellbook casting animation…)

Definitely. Or even when they made a class as ridiculously niche as Demon Hunter at all.

No thank you, don’t need another DPS spec to be abused and neglected in.

I guess I agree. Maybe all the specs should be removed in favor of one role and playstyle for each class. And then after it’s still imbalanced they can cut down all the neglected classes, and we can just have 4: warrior to tank, priest to heal, rogue to melee dps, and mage to range dps.

final verdict makes me want just a ranged dps caster for paladins.

4th spec as a ranged holy damage dealer would be pretty nice and unique.

Honestly it could work with holy power aswell.

Denounce could be the generator of holy power and then they can keep wog, maybe eternal flame instead also. If you keep denounce as a short casting ability 1.5sec the spec could be very fast and dynamic.

I’d be careful asking for a ranged spec, cause once you have a ranged spec on a class, the melee one will pretty much always be ignored by the playerbase (moreso than now).

That is an interesting point. I guess the examples we have are druid, hunter, and shaman?

Well for Druid I would say, at least it feels this way to me as a druid main and someone that used to love feral, that they have intentionally left feral in a hard-to-play and hard-to-be-effective place in order to encourage its weird position as a spec to feel proud of mastering if you do it well. In practice it’s just a low reward and crappy feeling spec that even if you can do well isn’t even fun to play… though it CAN do relevant dps if you do it well.

For Hunter, it’s just currently in a crappy spot by comparison to one of the other two options, so why go with a weak spec when it isn’t even ranged, and doesn’t even provide extra mobility (hi there BM spec, the ranged class with melee mobility since forever)

As for Shaman, isn’t enhancement the top choice right now?

Feral and Survival both do good dps, feral towards the top and survival kinda in the middle of the pack at least in raid setting. Survival is very good at aoe for m+, but melee so yeah.

Enhancement is up there right now for sure, but this isn’t very common for them. I’m sure they’d like to be in this situation more often.

It’s not an absolute, but there’s just a likelihood that having a ranged spec available means it becomes the standard choice. And this is all still true in a more melee friendly patch!

They just need to give melee specs objectively more utility. That way they can bring something to a situation and be desirable without it being “more dps”

I would prefer if they make a ranged pally healer without the need to go into melee.

Classic vibes

Plate class with a gun? Sounds weird. It’s time to get a new ranged class tbh.

Psh, Space Marines say it’s not weird

U mean like the old Lightbringer Beacon talent. It was the best

I’d still keep it melee, just with more ranged options. That said, this reminds me that the paladins in Daiblo 2 had ranged options and could use bows and crossbows. And considering the WoW paladin is seemly based off them, it might a justification for this option?

Here i was thinking ret was a ranged class nowadays lol

Mid ranged on somethings, one of which requires a legendary(which should be baseline) and another a pvp talent to increase the range.
