Input Lag/Packet Loss in WoW Only

I recently moved into a new apartment that has really fast internet excited to continue mythic raiding with my guild for 8.2.
For some reason at raid times (11-2 am EST) I get about 1 gcd of input lag and frequent packet loss lasting up to 5 seconds. This is extremely frustrating especially as we progress mythic Orgazoa, as getting that packet loss during Ichor essentially means I am dead.

I have been struggling with different methods of solving the issue including
-Turning off the network settings in game
-Switching to hard-wired ethernet
-using Google DNS servers
-Calling my ISP and having them check the connection themselves.

For some reason other games run with no issues (Rocket League, Apex).

I know that WoW does not need much bandwidth to play without lag so I was wondering if there was anything the Blizzard team could see that I can’t that will help me identify and address the problem.

As it stands should this continue I can’t really raid with my friends anymore. That would be a shame too because mythic raiding was the only thing keeping me interested in the game right now, so I really hope I don’t have to give up raiding.

Hey Auridan,

If the issue is only occurring during specific hours of the night it’s definitely possible that it’s an ISP issue.

I would recommend running a WinMTR for 15-20 minutes while the issue is occurring in-game, and then post the results so we can take a look. If it is an issue with the ISP then hopefully it will show up in the WinMTR.

I’m not sure I have the right IP address but this is the log I got

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Just to clarify, you would want to run this test in the background during the period of reported lag, which I see you mentioned happens between 11pm-2am usually.

With that being said, the ISP appears to be blocking the majority of the test (No response from host) so we aren’t able to see what is happening unfortunately. The connection to the router (10.25.0.1) looks good.

Next time the issue starts up you may want to try using a mobile hotspot or VPN if you have one available. That could help confirm if using a different connection works around the problem, and then you would want to contact your internet provider to have them look into it from their end.

Hopefully that helps clear things up!
