Initial 9.1 PTR notes, Fire nerfs

Yah I apologize to OP for this thread…shouldn’t have got involved :frowning:

I didn’t persecute him. I pointed out he should improve his game play instead making statements saying the class is dead.

1: I’m not the one saying the class is dead in 9.1.

2: I was 10/12 mythic in Nyalotha so I actually have an understanding of how mage works.

Lol I’m definitely not a mediocre player.

I never made an analysis of arcane. I just said it’s playable.

I actually play a mage as well. Sorry you don’t like non sugarcoated feedback.

The thing is you are shaming people in the discussion. I am also in the position of fire will be fine. I certainly could be wrong, but thought I would share my perspective and like to read others opinions.

Shaming: the act or activity of subjecting someone to shame, disgrace, humiliation, or disrepute especially by public exposure or criticism. Other times they would take more aggressive measures, tracking down and exposing information.

The Forum is the public exposure and the logs are what you tracked down.

Nothing wrong with that but again I wasn’t shaming him. I was saying he has no credibility and should focus on improving his parses.

See above.

Logs are easily accessible. I looked at them so I could gauge his credibility. When someone has 5 grey parses for heroic bosses then I tend to not believe what they are saying.

You’ve literally done that at least twice on the mage forums in the past week, yet you say you’re not doing it? I’m confused. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I posted one persons logs. The other time was weekly statistics for 95th percentile and higher.

Neither time was to “bully” someone.

Read the whole post bro. Omg, you are the 3rd one. At the moment I posted that comment only read wowhead post, and it did not included all the changes.

Speaking as the “shamed mage” i have no problem admitting my parses are bad. My dps is fine for my guild and after 2 tiers of mythic, im burned out of playing fire. I hate fire which makes me play it poorly. Well enough for my guild but I did spend time practicing and looking stuff up. Not fair to my guild to show up and not do my best. I did it last expansion. Need to bring that back for the greater good.

Also, some personal information has come to light from a friend about the Warlock-who-knows-all. Bullying and drama calls to come people. This isn’t new behavior so take it from it’s source.

Lastly, my comments a loooong way above were about the impact to the only mage spec doing well generally. Wasn’t complaining about what it would do to my dps personally . Who would expect a Warlock trolling the mage forums for whatever reason to take it that way and turn it around with a personal attack. Please read that as a rhetorical statement.

Speaks to character … but, from what I’ve been told, that’s lacking in “some people.” Still, 3/10 mythic (4 whole Shriek kills and 1 on 2 other bosses … wow) and those “big keys” he’s pushing clearly make him an elite player who should be judging others openly LOL.

Wonder if one needs a nap after pushing a 5 HoA? lol.

Again it’s not actually bullying.

No. Bullying is usually a pattern of behavior directed at one person. Far as I know this is our first interaction.

It’s just douchebaggery coming from someone who, looking at your profile, has no reason to sit atop his pretend iron throne.

Maybe challenge yourself and go push a 7? If you need a nap afterwards no one will judge you.

See? I can be a douchebag too. Though unlike you, I only do it when provoked.

You should be careful about your sources. I actually never claimed to be a know it all. I just said you were over reacting about the fire changes.

As for Nakkita, you should keep in mind that their whole guild got mad because myself and a friend left the guild because we wanted to pursue further mythic progression.

Wiping on heroic sire and slg for two hours every week wasn’t what we were looking for.

Not naming names, but I’ve known some people long enough to know what they say isn’t hyperbole.

That, and your first impression doesn’t exactly put you in a place as an adequate counterpoint.

And you’re the one that made this personal. Forgive me if that’s another reason to believe what someone I know and trust tells me cause it seems true-to-form.

Lastly, a mythic raider who can’t be bothered pushing keys … at all … isn’t a mythic raider I’d take worth a grain of salt anyway.

I mean I have screenshots that disprove that. Also the person you are referring too wasnt even involved in the discussion as to why/when we left.

I am a very blunt person and I dont hide that.

I dont consider what I said a personal attack. If you took it as such then my apologies.

Theres literally zero point pushing keys past a 14 for the weekly vault unless you want too. I dont care about KSM due to juggiling a 65 hour a week job, a family, and then wow time. Its why I play ina two night a week raiding guild.

Edit - Changed things because someone flagged it because they dont like facts I guess.

It is as far as I know.

Why would I waste time on a 7 when I complete 14/15s everyweek?

Difference is I actually had a valid point.

Thread has gone off topic for over 40 posts. Has turned into parse and +value shaming, sprinkled with a touch of bias justification and critiquing arguments based on scoring values not related to the upcoming nerfs and soulbind/conduit expansion. Go test this stuff and give us number values to show difference between live and 9.1 DPS using a pure copied character and dpsing on both live and PTR to compare the damage output. On PTR, you are able to make legendaries for free, the soulbinds are fully unlocked, and the conduits are fully upgraded as if you were max renown, a new form of upgrade with renown currently implemented on PTR.

Anyone know if it’s possible to sim current characters with the PTR changes? It must be possible, but I’m not too tech savvy lol.

Kalamazi has been doing it for the warlock videos so I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able too

There are a millions reasons why I can’t do it lol. I need a better mind!

While this is true, the mage community has been drowning in uncertainty before every major content patch as to the direction of the class since 8.2 or before. I was tuned out on my shaman for most of BFA cause ew gross.

Literally just end the flip flopping… having to switch specs from frost at the start of the expansion cause they gutted it at release was retarded. If they gut fire similarly to the point of obsolescence I will cut someone.
