Influx of indonesian/ chinese gold farmers/sellers

my server nearly every lotus spawn is being camped by self admitted indonesian/ chinese gold farmers one of which admitted to selling black lotus for irl $. these people that say it isnt that bad are funny to me. of course not everyone spawn is camped 24/7 but 24/7 there is female troll hunters and mages with names like “Seanveronica” or “qweawsdsad” sprinting around to each of them while another set of faceroll keyboard names are multiboxing strat and bringing the price of orbs down. idk. very weird for the only people you see while farming to be indonesian people who call u “sir” every sentence.

let me know if buying gold is legal since these guys are up with no problem non stop ill quit farming herbs

This is probably something that will never go away.

The majority of people doing this live in third world countries, it’s literally paying their bills.

The accounts/subs they pay for pays blizzard.

And then of course there’s the consumers, people are buying gold. If there wasn’t a market these people (or their jobs anyways) wouldn’t exist.

is it bad that i dont feel bad at all

Report for cheating on the very line of text where they stated that.

Bear in mind that camping a black lotus is not against the rules. Gold farming is not against the rules. It requires that extra step of bringing RMT (real money trading) into the picture to be against the rules.

No, but when has being against the rules ever stopped some people?

Consequences do exist, but are unfortunately slow and people aren’t always caught. (Compare it to speeding. Many people exceed the speed limit even though it’s illegal, even though they might be caught and fined, in part because so many get away with it on the regular.)

well we cant see them sending the gold to their bosses at g2g so theres no way of proving other than all of these female troll indonesians are nonstop farming gold all day

so i guess just report every female troll who u see in epl and burning steppes all day everyday

True, but when we report, Blizzard can see the paths that the farmed items and the gold take. It just takes longer for the patterns to be apparent and undeniable. (Undeniable because Blizzard prefers to be ready for the inevitable appeals.)

all this done is make it essential to have a mage to sell boosting runs. the price of crystals on my server is 35-40g and lotus is 90g. if every lotus is getting farmed on CD you have no viable gold farms besides boosting on a mage lol.

A lot of the RMT guys don’t seem to fear Blizzard at all because Blizzard has been lax with punishments for too long.

Honestly, Blizzard needs to separate Classic and Retail accounts so that you cannot farm Mechanar for a pile of gold and then buy gold tokens to buy time. Most of the so called players in mechanar are bots.

These in turn make it possible to play on Classic and farm gold in Classic, and the mule characters in retail that are also bots can distribute gold to accounts laying in wait for a ban wave.

Realistically they, er I mean Blizzard needs to enable some kind of gold tracking system to find out where the gold originated, and ban that character and 6 month anyone that buys gold.

Sucks for some people yes, but overall the health of both games will greatly increase.

Banning RMT and being harsh with the bans is the only way…

Back in like 2014 I think it was there was a RMT botter / player named Bailmos, he played a rogue in RBG and he was a very well known cheater and streamer, he openly bragged about cheaing.

One day he made a post about why Blizzard needs to ban and HARSHLY ban players who cheat, because it harms the game greatly when players cheat and makes it un-fun. He said that because the punishments are not frequent enough and not harsh enough there is no intensive for players who would consider cheating not to cheat because the Risk for cheating out weighs the low chance you get banned.

Back then I was 100% pro blizzard and thought they could do no wrong, well I was wrong and Bailmos was right, my bad. I have learned a lot about Blizzard over the years, and they are not all bad, its just the culture of Blizzard is not the once great bastion of awesome that it once was, and now days the company needs help badly from the top down, because the only thing they seem to care about at the top is money on the short term, and while the individual developers tend to care, that top down money first attitude hurts things like Punishing RMT, and quality game designs.

So here we are, seeking refuge in Classic WoW, because retail while beautiful to look at, and has some of the most amazing raids, is just a pile of junk to play.

Thanks for the warning, Kickpoly. I will make sure not to play on your server.

“Legal”? You seem to be confusing Blizzard with a god. You are saying “If it happens, then Blizzard must think it is legal”. That is true, only if Blizzard can see everywhere and do everything: like a god.

The reality is different. Blizzard is a company, staffed by humans. WoW is an AUTOMATED game, not a human-run game. Classic WoW has around 800,000 players. It doesn’t have 800,000 GMs. It doesn’t even have 8,000 GMs.

If you don’t like games that have cheaters in them, then don’t play games – ANY games. I have played 5 other MMOs in addition to WoW. They all had gold purchasing on ebay. They all had accounts sold on ebay. WoW is no different – just bigger.

i edited my message to be nice. the debate u created in ur head, dont worry u won it
