Infinite Stars and too much corruption, what do I do?

Hey there! So, here’s my situation. I have two pieces of gear with corruption- my my belt and a ring. My total corruption is 95 and my resistance is is taking care of the additional 20pts of corruption (cloak only rank 6). My belt has Infinite Stars (tier 1) and my ring as Infinite Stars (tier 3). The problem is that my corruption level is so high that I have Inevitable Doom. I see two ways of fixing the issue but I’m not sure which rout is the best-

Being it the case that my belt is only tier 1 Infinite Stars, should I cleanse it to get my corruption level down to 45? Or, should I swap out my belt with another piece of gear (that I haven’t looted yet, I’d have to wait until a belt drops for me) until my cloak has ranked up high enough to handle BOTH of the corrupted pieces of gear that have Infinite Stars?

The reason why I’m unsure which route to take is that having double Infinite Stars is obviously a wicked plus, so cleansing the tier 1 piece would be unfortunate, but it would also be potentially a long time before a belt drops for me that won’t be a hit to my ilvl (if I don’t find a good replacement, getting into M+ etc could become an issue).

If you were in this situation, what would you do? Is there another option I’m not seeing?

*I don’t have the gold to purchase a new belt, and it might be a hit to my stats in the meantime even if I did get a crafted one …

Get another piece that has infinite stars rank 2, get your corruption level up to 200, embrace eternity and serve the old gods.

Cleanse the belt.

I would cleanse the r1 infinite stars, and focus on getting your cloak the few extra levels that you’re behind.

I would try to replace the ring for later. The roll is rare enough it might become useful again once you level your cloak. Generally you dont want more then 39 corruption. Thing from beyond is lethal at the worst moments.

OP is incorrect in his original post. His belt is Infinite Stars level 2, not level 1.

Given that OP already has Infinite Stars level 3 on a higher ilevel ring, I suggest either the following options:

  • Cleanse the belt; or
  • Save the belt in your bank, and wear some other belt… even a low ilevel WQ belt will do until you get something better.

You could always buy a benthic belt for a short term hold over until something better comes along, leaving the corrupted one in your bank to use later when your resistance goes up on the cloak.

There is also a TW vendor up this week that probably sells some gear you could use that is better than benthic.

Cleanse the not-stars corruptions and stack dps ones.

Grab cheap replacement till you get enough resist.

Get your cloak up to this weeks max rank and use the essences that reduce corruption.

I save most of my reasonable gear drops. Can switch to a not corrupted piece if needed.
I would not cleanse the belt that is such a nice corruption. Also keeping up with the cloak is important.

Don’t cleanse. Work on cloak more, then put in a season 4 essence for 10 more reduction.

I had two magical corrupted rings one with IS and the other TD. The corruption was way too much.
What I did, grind the cloak and have one of the new essences slotted … problem solved. I sit below 40 so its just the stupid eyeball. Manageable.

I agree with this. Even at rank 2, one of the new essences sims about the same DPS as the rank 3 it replaced, at least for my boomkin.

RNGebus in his infinite rng ishness has made sure I have no corruption beyond that origional piece, thus it impacts my worrry and rush not at all
