I am just putting this out there in the hopes that a blizz blue will comment on it.
Will we ever see an increase in the amount of letters you can use for names? We have had all of these QoL changes or increases to the game, yet that is one thing that has not happened yet. It would be nice to be able to have more letters to add to the names or even adding numbers to names.
I want them to free up names again, I really donât want to start using alt codes for names but the randomizer is handing out names like Aeilelelel and Opiuanghhsh.
Is awful. I transferred a toon because the name openâŠbut as soon as I transferred was told it wasnât so I had to rename it. I did so with an alt code for the first letter. HUGE MISTAKE!
Now my poor guy is: ALT 0 2 0 8 âocgonzo. Just ruined it for me.
I usually take a prefix I like or suffix and try to combine it with another pre/suf I like to make a servicable name, but I mostly whine because on roleplay servers (and in rp in general) names are really important.
I guess if there are 10 possibilities for each letter, and 7 letters, thatâs 10 million different ways to spell Legolas. And we can use the same name on different realms.
I just want them to allow us to use a space⊠That is all I need. They allow it in our passwords for the game, why not our names. and yes I realize that their are childish people that will abuse it⊠but that is simple enough if people would report names.
They should really allow a first and last name tbh. Increasing the character count for names would be nice but then Iâd see names like WantedLostartesbutgotthisnameinstead
In the future reserve it. Transfer the character, delete the reserved name character, then when prompted to rename your transferred charter there you go.
I canât recall if you are only forced to name change when that name not is already in use. Best to play it safe in either case, this is Blizzard.
I think that naming in general needs a rework/update. Itâs very difficult to get a âgoodâ name on even low population servers now, and impossible on high pops.
Ken-nie
Kennâie
Kennie Kennerson
Stuff like that. Itâd option up a lot of options.
God no! Weâd have a never ending supply of âMike Hawkâ, âMike Huntâ, âA. Nellsechsâ, âA. Nelproberâ, âAlotto Dixâ, âAnnie Rectionâ, etc. ad nauseum.
Thatâs specifically why we donât get surnames in WoW as it is.
I want them to update the naming convention entirely. We should be able to use apostrophes, dashes, and spaces. And for the love of everything, I wish we could have surnames.
If Blizzard were to do this, theyâd never have to worry about releasing names ever again. Also, the number of requests theyâd get to rename characters would be a good look.
