Increased Arena Rating Cutoff Values

Whoa but then you will get a ban 9 months later for 4 days. It ain’t worth it bro.

“Blizzard takes botting and cheating seriously”. We think a 4 day ban is sufficient for years of cheating.

Reviving this because Bornakk said the situation was being monitored. I am wondering if anything came of this

Doubtful. There’s a bunch of scripters and pilots taking up the very few spots as well. Only thing they could do is increase the pool of eligible players below 1000CR but I don’t see them doing that.

Or doing anything, really. Doubt they even know about the problem

Ratings are definitely inflated.

However it did not stoke any additional arena participation. The same people are playing, only now they are 3k+ instead of 2k+ rating.

ye, it’s really discouraging. I have personally been pushing for 3s glad and have been hovering around or above the cutoff the whole season and almost every queue session is just playing v.s the same boosters.

The minimal number of spots are taken up by alts and doubles, or triples of the same players. Blizz should at the very least implement the change they made with retail where if a player under the same account is taking up multiple glad spots with more than one character it adds another one to the pool. So, just say gigagladiatorx has 3 warriors in glad range, instead of there being 130 glad spots there’s now 132.

The deadly to furious jump is big. Next season it won’t be as painful, with any luck.

? If they don’t remove the inflation we will have 3600 gladiator next season

Imagine starting a new character and grinding 0-3600

Posting again in this Bornakk thread asking if we can get the retail title feature that adds spots to the pool when a person on a singular bnet takes up multiple spots.

This is an amazing idea, it doesn’t address the pilots but it helps a good amount.

I agree, the two ranking systems are almost identical. It should 100% be in classic with how limited spots are. Wouldn’t fix the root of the problem but it would help. Editing to include the link; the feature is located towards the bottom of the patch notes. For anyone interested

FYI, the arena vendors did not update with the patch, and arena pts were not rewarded at 8am, instead we got honor. Please fix…

HEEYYY!!!

We were supposed to get more arena points today.

How more incompetent can your development team be if you made the exact same mistake as last season?

I know this is an unpopular opinion but dropping rating requirements and basically doing ANYTHING to make arena more enticing or accessible to the majority of players is a GOOD thing right now.

I’m a big arena/pvp enthusiast and it saddens me to see so many people deterred from participating in it. It doesn’t really benefit anyone to have only veteran arena players, r1’s and glads playing arena. It makes it harder even for good players to get anything.

Let me reply how I’'ve seen countless people reply to this suggestion: “GIT GUD. It’s not that hard to reach 1800.” When literally the Challenger cap for 2’s is around 1750-1800 this season (one of the worst seasons in terms of participation).

It’s hard to think even after blizz implements the changes you suggest that the community won’t jsut run off casuals with how inviting they are, or the amount of integrity they show.

Blizzard, you guys should just double the number of glad spots in all brackets this season and next season. Raise glad to 1% instead of 0.5%. Maybe you can also raise Rank 1 from 0.1% to 0.2%. There are way too many alts taking up spots, way too low of a casual playerbase, too many boosts, win trading, queue dodging and queue sniping, game imbalances etc.

Someone said that if you add up all the mages (17) and hunters (9) getting gladiator across all brackets and double it, it’s less than the amount of paladins getting glad in 2’s alone.

You guys made gladiator on retail a simply 2400 requirement, because the 0.5% cutoff system was becoming too difficult, and too easily abused. It’s about time to make a change for classic here as well.

Just do a system like apex. Give everyone over a certain rating the titles, with the top # or % of players getting the Furious/Whateverous Title and drake.

Anyone that cares about Arena should still be barking about no cross realm LFG, we can group and queue with cross realm players but not find them in the LFG tool.

The biggest deterrence is the lack of team mates, you can spam /2 or /4 all day and get a couple of nibbles. They just need to spend 30min and implement cross realm to the LFG tool.

I hear there is a cross realm arena discord, best just give that a look

It’s not the point, Blizzard should just do their job, but they never do because the players forget and let it get swept under the rug.
