It’s crazy at the moment with how many people are farming ores, even with all the layering going on it’s hard to come by 20/40 ore an hour on servers like Arugal.
The respawn rate on Mithril ore nodes need to be increased a lot to keep up with demand as the AH price is 2.50g per 1 ore, yes 1 ore. It’s mainly Mithril ore as it’s only really 2 zones you get it from. Please Blizz increase the spawn rate on it as it’s a clear road block when you have 3 professions needing it.

Just like to add after finally getting through that nightmare of Mithril and then having a easy time on Thorium, that Outland ore nodes are way over camped as well. 20 Fel iron for 1 hours work is just crazy , it needs to increase with population and it clearly isn’t.
Edit: I really hate to see what will happen with ore nodes spawns in Northrend…

its a new xpac and people are farming mats for the new boosted andies that prefer to swipe.
give it a month, you’ll be fine

And all the DKs as it seems every single one of them decided “Hey, I should be a miner”.

Basically “I can’t get all the ore I want therefore the spawn rates should be boosted!!”
Leave it as is, things will die down eventually.

blizzard should make profession CDs account bound if they haven’t already. many players are leveling mining solely for the titanium CD
Why does that need to be stopped though?
You should have mined ahead of pre-patch.
If you have the mara scepter you can farm a lot of uncontested mithril in there. But its capped at 5 resets an hour

It would have been more worth your time to farm gold then buy and smelt
I’d say let us miners enjoy our little boost in income while it lasts.

No. Go play retail. You need go earn stuff. Its already sad enough that you can just smelt your way to the end. Quit asking for everything to be dummbed down.
Just buy and smelt it my man.
what are you even talking about.
that might be the most ridiculous suggestion ive ever read.
“Blizzard this guy spends more time than me and is better than I am, fix it now!”
Yesterday I ended up on a Layer neither I or my guildies could name. It didn’t have a number, and it was strangely underpopulated.
But the Thorium spawns WERE ON CRACK. Usually Un’goro is difficult to find ore on.
It just kept spawning, and OFF of my Gathermate data. Fast spawns, completely random locations. I’ve never seen so much Thorium in my entire WoW existence.
The random spawns make me think this is to mess with bots, but this massive increase in spawn will make the 9-5 gold sellers go wild.
It was strange. Anyone else see that in Ungoro?

For some reason Un’goro is like that on all layers, 200 Thorium is 20mins and it was great, and got JC to 300. Now in outland is a nightmare, as the servers are over populated as Med was a full server back in the original game and high is a server with multiple layers which are way over populated.
Full laps around Zangamarsh and ZERO ore, Hellfire I’m lucky to get 20 ore an hour and you can see why with the massive amount of people flying around mining.
The people who are defending this as “normal” when it’s far from normal. Back in the original i was able to level JC and BS on a high pop server np’s at all. Today’s high pop servers are times many more as stated by Blizzard them self without increasing resources to go with the population.
Or maybe it’s time from another bot ban wave Blizzard…
you got 4 zones all next to eachother all with mithril spawns. badlands Searing Gorge Burning steppes and Blasted lands. It might take longer but hit the nodes in one zone and head to the next if you see overflow from hinterlands fly south to kargath
I just farmed 800 mithril for 5 professions over a week on Whitemane.
It’s normal for Classic. Same thing happened at TBCC launch with the Boost.
I levelled my mining in one morning. Woke up at 2.00am for a system release for work and when it was finished I powerlevelled my mining for the rest of the morning while nobody was online. Easy.
It’s definately really bad on the large servers. The competiton is fierce and it becomes quite discouraging/depressing if you spend hours with little to show for it. I recently got to 375 mining on Sulfuras and it was a long tedius grind.
And on sulfuras you’ll likely get killed by the enemy faction while trying to mine the rare node you find, so it adds onto the frustration of so few nodes.
It’s going to be bad at wrath release too. I would give it 2 months to stabalize.
Big agree on this one.
I’m in the process of lvling 1-60 for the 4th time in prepatch, It’s near impossible to get your mining lvled up as you do, The amount of boosted 70s that decide to lvl mining in the open world instead of just buying 300mining skill with smelting is nuts.
I leveled a rogue in outlands 60-70 and saw maybe 6 mining nodes the whole time theres level 70’s with epic mounts taking the nodes.
They could just add the SoM changes into wotlk very easily to solve this issue.
