Increase healer DPS

I know our job is to heal, but let’s face the truth. Tanks barely need us and on boss fights, they really don’t need us. Every season the “meta” comes down to which healer has the most DPS or no healer at all. Raising healer DPS to tank level ensures our spot in a group.

Unfortunately they’ll just face kickback for it. The heroic dungeon and low key heroes heal because they ONLY want to heal, so Blizzard listened to them. Upped the healing checks and nerfed healer damage.

More damage on players means the bad healers struggle more.
Less damage on players is an easier time to heal, more down time to do damage, but if healers do no damage, than it’s likely people will find a way to not run with them.

Either, healers need to heal more, and bad healers get flammed more, and less people will be willing to try it healing
Or
Healers have an easier time healing AND they do tank damage, which means it’s okay to be a bit of an underperforming healer, but, if you can do decent damage than the value of your damage, will justify bringing you for when the healing is needed too.

Healers doing more damage is good for literally everyone

Absolutely. Keeping players alive while knowing when you can use a GCD for a DPS ability allows for skill expression.

Definitely keep major healchecks (like Hyrja in Halls of Valor or Khajin the Unyielding in Halls of Infusion) but could you give us a little break from the never-ending stress on healers that started with Ruby Life Pools and got way worse in this expansion’s dungeons? Pick your spots to let us shine. Even though it’s harder than ever to heal, nobody walks away from a +3 key talking about “hey did you see the HPS from that healer???”

Or, hear me out, they have tanks that aren’t soloist and they also normalize damage out from NPCs. Then DPS can keep working on DPS and healers can heal and tanks keep everything facing them.

I hear you saying “but they can’t do that!” Well, it used to be that way so there is no reason it can’t be.

Normalize DMG, can you elaborate?

I’m confused, with the ambiguity in this statement, everyone already does that.
Seems like you might be against healers doing the same and tanks do, can you elaborate

Smooth out damage, enough of the the spikey damage that is requiring so much damage mitigation that now a tank has to have so many abilities they are able to solo tank.

If that doesn’t clear up your other question I’m not sure how to answer you.

So you want a world where healers don’t do DMG AND there is no burst damage? That would basically only leave constant unending rot damage.

If that’s not the case, as in healers have a moment to not heal… then do you just want to sit there are do nothing?

Thats not what I said. In the past we had a few situations where the tank needed to use a mitigation but it wasn’t as much as it is today. I mean what I am asking for is pretty much what everyone has been talking about since DF (for M+ and raids).

This isn’t a threat about tank mitigation This is about healers wanting to be able to do more damage

Idrc about doing more flat damage but i think they at least need to equalize it across the board.
To many seasons have 1 healer do drastically more damage the others and pretty much end up the only viable healer in higher keys because of it.

And more effort = damage balancing like what theyre trying for druid this patch. Getting only comparatively mid damage for properly managing 5 dots, 2 forms and 3 major cooldowns sucked til pretty much the end of DF.

This is what made me swap mains from rdruid. I loved it when we first got master shapeshifter and suddenly did real (if overtuned) damage. Then we got nerfed into the ground again. I swap to pres for a key and do as much damage with one flame breath as I did managing all my dots + kitty weaving as rdruid. Rdruid has probably the most ridiculous dps rotation on healer (maybe disc, but they get way more from doing it), and they get so little for it. If I can get to tank dps during periods that I have downtime, that’s good enough.

If I have unlimited downtime (from say, low keys) I should be rewarded for good healing and get good dps during that time, not 1/5-1/2 tank damage.
