Please increase the number of character you can have on an account.
I could see them trolling us by just increasing it to 51.
They’ll put character packs on the online shop… $10 for 2 characters or $20 for 5.
I would laugh.
I would enjoy that.
I’d even honestly pay for it.
Another thing I’d like to see one day is that if you have two accounts, let us have them on the same login so we can just access both accounts characters without having to log out.
This is fairly common in MMOs tbh.
Granted, it’s usually done by F2P or B2P MMOs that have like, less than a dozen character slots to begin with, and it usually comes with a cap of how many character slots you can buy, and that cap is usually less than what WoW and FFXIV already offer.
I… really don’t see the need for more than 50. That’s an insane number. I understand that the game is old and people who dedicate their time to mostly leveling new characters DO hit that limit, but at the same time, it’s impossible to meaningfully keep up with that many characters at one time.
I don’t think it’s out of line to ask people taking their altoholism to that degree to… delete their least played characters to make room for new ones.
All of that said, it’s not like some extra character slots would negatively impact me. I’m not going to complain if Blizzard goes ahead and raises it to 75 or 100 or even goes ahead and does that cash shop thing for those who REALLY want it.
I just don’t see it as a pressing need, is all.
So i was about to agree because i only main 3 characters, but then i realized that between my bc, wrath, cata, mop, wod and legion mains that are still sitting in bis gear at their squished level i’m almost character cap and i can’t even fathom deleting them
Are you actively engaging in typical twink activities on those characters? Or are they sitting there collecting dust because you haven’t touched them since you moved on to the next expansion with a new set of favored characters?
I’d also like to say it’s abnormal for anyone to have 3+ “mains” and not carry any of them forward to the next expansion.
One thing I liked that SWTOR did was giving me the option to roll an unusual race for a class after getting it to max level.
Stuff like the legacy system was the best part of that game.
I feel like that’s a system that could seriously benefit WoW, with all the alts we’re leveling these days.
Look at this character
You don’t just delete mop exclusive arena enchants on weapons
And yes all my toons are twinked for their respective levels
I would think that it would depend on what Blizzard does to wreck the class/spec. At the end of Legion, Blizzard broke shamen, elemental was simply trash, so I stopped playing that main in favor of another class. I hated doing it because I really liked playing elemental, but it was so wrecked, it was simply unplayable.
I did eventually switch back to it once Blizzard fixed the spec, however, had I really enjoyed playing mage, I would have stuck with this character into Shadowlands.
Mop lego capes and nah i need three hpals to play at different cr brackets with different people or alts, and if i swap faction between expansions i don’t transfer over characters
There is a way to pay for more character slots, sort of, by creating a second WoW account. Pay another $15 a month for 50 more slots. I know you don’t get your collections on the second account, but this is probably Blizzard’s thinking on the matter.
I get what you’re saying. I have 36 toons and they’re all level 50 to 60. I can’t play them them all or even keep them geared. Not enough hours in the day.
But… when it comes down to it, what someone does with their alts really isn’t anyone’s business. It’s their $15, ya know?
The only thing I have against increasing character slots is it allows people to hoard even more names. They can already hold 50 per account. They can create starter accounts to hold names. And if this was to happen, they can hold say… 75? 100? more names per account. This game is so old and some servers are so big that finding a good name that’s not complete gibberish is hard enough. It’s made worse by the fact that Blizzard only releases names every 4 years.
Anyways like I said, that would be my only hesitation.
But how would you dualbox?
With how many people left in bfa, you should try to snag a couple when the prepatch for 10.0 goes live i think its inactive for two expansions for the name to be released?
I try to get names I’m missing all the time. Sometimes they’ll do it randomly. I got Vixey on Moon Guard in the middle of BfA when it was announce that names were freed up.
Edit: Announced on the forums, not by Blizz. They never announce it.
I imagine it would be a setting you can choose honestly.
I don’t dualbox myself… sometimes wish I did…
I know a couple of major name hoarders on moonguard its a tough one i remember getting Altena for my dk in wrath there and thats about it lol
That happens on all full/locked servers. Good names are actually worth money.
