"Incompatible" servers

Everyone seems to be posting about character not found, or disconnects at character select.

I don’t get that far, I’m at the Realm Selection list, and every single server says “Incompatible” in the population column. If I try to force it to go by selecting my main server and hitting okay, then I get Logging Into Server followed by a disconnect WOW51900223.

Thanks, not trying to add to the noise but this is a flavor I haven’t found mentioned outside of Classic servers, and I play retail.

Either shut down and restart the launcher or reboot the computer.
Incompatible means that the client isn’t up to date.

Thanks for that. I’ve gotten hundreds/thousands of client updates without issue, until today apparently. After rebooting and opening the launcher, i saw a sneaky quick wow update pushed that stubbornly had zero interest in showing up previously.
