tried logging on tonight and got message ‘incompatible’ for all realms. On a quick search apparently this is usually due to a client version issue and suggests updating - but when I click on ‘options’ the ‘check for updates’ is greyed out.
I really don’t want to spend half a day reinstalling the whole game if there’s any other possible fixes, appreciate any help y’all can offer?

The most common fix for this is to log out of battle.net launcher and reboot your computer. Often times that is all it takes to nudge whatever update is backed up that is making things incompatible for you guys.
Tried this, sadly it didn’t work. I’ve done update checks, repair checks etc.
Check to make sure your firewall isn’t blocking something. Make sure other updates aren’t pausing it, too. Try this:
Also: go into your WTF folder before you reinstall the game (if it gets to that point) and save your Saved Variables folder for your account. That’s all of your WoW and addon settings.
Yeah I did all of that this morning, also good tip with the Saved Variables folder etc. I haven’t done a full reinstall yet, however I’m not the only one having this issue. The people in the thread below, like myself, have followed that guide with still no luck.

I still have and had this issue since Friday 03/31/2023 I have updated all my drivers and I am at or above recommended on all specs.
