Incoming F2P with season pass

Thank you. That sounds like a slight of hand scheme to just suck MORE money out of players.

Some games, do it reasonably well. It’s better then loot boxes IMHO

But I’m scared to see what a Blizzard battle pass would look like tbh.

Basically, what this means for WoW, is some form of Battle Pass…

Which, quite honestly if it happens, I’ll sue.

So was Star Wars: The Old Republic, until they made that F2P…

Do you think they want to turn this into something like the billing scheme for APP based games - where the app is free but they bill you for every little thing?

If so, how will that square with the fact that we all purchased the game, then purchased every expansion, so why would we pay even more? Or, do you think they’ll roll out future expansions with this sort of APP based billing in mind?

I predict this will be a very sticky thing, and players may revolt.

They made it f2p because they they weren’t making money with a subscription model, not arbitrarily. They didn’t just randomly decide to make it free to play just because.

Yea…there’s no chance that’s going to happen. They know they’d lose too much money. F2p alone would kill WoW, much less reducing the value of in game obtained rewards.

For WoW most definitley which is why I say this thing is far more likely to appear in Overwatch. Then WoW.

I don’t think any other MMO’s to my knowledge at least has added a Battle pass.

God I hope not, Blizzard can be stupid sometimes. But I want to believe they are not that stupid. :fearful:

If WoW did get a battle pass, I feel it would need to tagged along with a large addition. The most popular one I’ve seen is WoW going F2P, but I find that hardly likely.

But who knows?!

Yes and if WoW ever drops to that low in subs I would guess it would go f2p also, but as WoW is still healthy population there is no reason for f2p or season pass.

Sub based game going f2p is a last ditch effort to milk their players for money.

Hey OP can i come and call you a liar when this doesn’t happen in a few months?

You think I wouldn’t? There’s quite a bit you can already file a lawsuit for against Blizzard Entertainment/Activision for in regards to WoW, just nobody is doing it because they like the game well enough–even in the crappy state it is in right now.

ill give it… 1 shot… no other shots.
if it fails… ill bounce from blizz products.

Lol nobody is doing it because any lawyer would laugh you out of their office.

Blizzard is completely covered for whatever you’re whining about, I promise you.

That’s actually happened to me in TWO games. Rift went F2P right after selling an expansion, and ESO went B2P right after opening 6 month subs. Both promised very shortly before that that they would never go F2P. They said it over and over.

Do I think WoW will? No, do I think it should? Eh… probably not, honestly…

Funny fox person. They offer a 6 months sub and then a week later announce FTP?

When they make so much money from subs, what makes you think they would just toss that all away.

No, not happening. Have a Blizzconline cookie :cookie:

I think Rift went free because of plummeting subs, and ESO went with a free option because of going onto console and people reasonably objecting to having to pay two fees.

WoW is in a very different situation.

This never gonna happen wow is lost in time, sub + microtransaction = activi$sion

, 10/10
