Destruction’s Mastery is out here buffing all their Hero Talent damage, yet Potent Afflictions doesn’t buff Malevolance, Blackened Soul, Seeds Of Their Demise, Soul Anathema, or Shared Fate.
Because Aff’s Mastery is just a flat percentage damage increase to spells, it would feel a bit better if our Mastery buffed all the important aspects to the kit, not just baseline spells. Our Mastery doesn’t even include Drain Soul, Haunt, Volatile Agony, or Oblivion. Seems a tad disappointing.

Can we also add Haunt to afflictions mastery?
It’s going to get less and less powerful as the expansion goes on. It’ll end up being entirely useless save for its damage buff.
Adding it to mastery would keep its damage rather high and allow it to be a quick burst spell like it is now.

I would rather afflictions mastery be simply improved over extending it to effect talent abilities.
Pushing it to certain talents simply locks the spec into always picking those talents. IMO, the mastery would much better serve the spec by being something like ‘Your damage to a target is increased by X% for each unique damage over time effect from you on it’.

So an inverse rdruid mastery?
Definitely would rather the mastery be improved as well. I would love a “Your Periodic Effects have increased duration and tick faster”.
But unfortunately I don’t think we’re seeing a rework for some time. So in the meanwhile I’d just love our mastery to effect ALL our abilities rather than just some.
Kind of! It would also feed on itself to a degree when we blow our cooldowns. It fits well into the ‘class fantasy’ of rotting enemies from within.
Y’all both know this exact thing is the Shadow Priest Mastery effect yeah? I thought you both were making a joke haha
