Alot of specs this round got the shaft and many others got balanced. But I want to touch on the subject with Wars. This class is just as broken as FDK but they recieved a slap in the hand compared to what we got.

Arms

- Overpower damage decreased by 20%.

They pushing Wars to be the golden child next patch?
Next week it goes down, so live.
Don’t know bout fury but arms lost double bladestorm and the changes made for TWW weren’t stuff I liked for it and it doesn’t feel as smooth anymore. They’re pushing Slam on Arms and no one wants it. lol

I mean we all knew Frost was gonna get hit hard, it’s legit insane on prepatch. time will tell what this functionally looks like.
Is the hero talents that much better for frost? When I parse, my unholy dps is higher than frost by quite a bit. I’m tired of playing unholy and wish that frost was better for a change.

So this is really just a balance pass. Its not even that bad.
Some nerfs, some buffs, some bug fixes…
What do people think about the massive PvP dot nerf for frost?
It’s possible that it was brought down due to cryogenic chamber but not everyone is going to run that. It now has a 30sec duration but I don’t think it’s capped. Personally I prefer my strikes to be the hardest hitting part and not passive pad.
As for the other stuff it’s just balancing and I’d expect more especially once they get the huge influx of data from the live game getting hero talent access.
I think it’s a good direction. I don’t like a passive for doing 80% of our damage. It’s also pretty toxic to play against.
The real question is what do we get to compensate the damage loss.

Tears.
Sadly, the big burst from deathbringer on the beta was nerfed as well.
Watching mes play and in most games our dot was still his top damage.
Not much to say. I had really enjoyed Frost DK PvE earlier in the beta, and that was the reason I subscribed for 6 months instead of my usual month-to-month. I now feel like a complete fool, because it was unreasonable to think that Frost DK would ever be good in a season. I hate how whiney that sounds, but I’m really disappointed because that was the first time I enjoyed a melee spec since the Legion feral.
The target cap reduction from 8 to 5 for Icy Death Torrent hurts quite a bit, and I think it’ll kill dual-wield Obliterate again, especially paired with the sticker nerf and the ability specific nerfs.
It’s curious that they further buffed Assassination rogue.
Anyway, I’ll see how it feels after the changes, and whether BDK might be an option (not for my raid, there are too many tanks). If it’s not fun, I’ll eat the losses and move on to other games. Playing anything but the favored classes/specs is an uphill battle.

Deathbringer has talents that heavily buff frost fever. I’m guessing they’re preemptively nerfing it in order to prepare for that.
I hope that is the case and fdk stays competitive, I can foresee it falling off and getting neglected once more however

No one knows for sure till we are at 80 with full hero talent. Specs are not meant to play with hero talents so some class/spec might be OP for now once they got their crappy hero tlanets they will suck while others might suck while leveling but become dps machine once they fully have their hero talents.

After testing on beta, along with watching mes test, it feels UH is just going to be superior once again.
The frost nerfs were needed, but blizz went overboard.
That’s how blizzard works. Do major nerf and then slowly do arua buff by the time the spec is workable again is too late lol.

Haste impacting GA is nice from a PVE perspective honestly. Lets me potentially fit another ability in that high impact window after enough haste with the GCD reduction. That’s not nothing in an aoe scenario.
They’ve shifted a little bit more damage into button presses and less on build up proc/dumps that we largely don’t have much control over so we get a slight edge in controlling some more of that burst (that’s the name of the game in most PVP matches below upper tiers of play).
It’s not all bad news. Yeah lots of nerfs in there, but nothing mechanically that will make me put the spec down.
As for arms warrior only getting 2 abilities hit, you do realize they have like 4 buttons that aren’t talent CDs that you use rotationally. That’s actually a pretty substantial part of the kit that they hit because arms doesn’t have much going on outside of execute range in terms of decision making, even then you just rejig your priorities a bit.
Not apples to apples, and weakens your opinion on frost imho.
