Honestly ngl if video games are this old and you don’t understand the point of matchmaking systems you prob should pack it up tbh. Even games like Fortnite and call of duty have Mmr they just don’t show it to the player.
It’s like someone complaining about needing an internet connection to play an mmorpg. Just go
League, too, because they realize showing it just confuses most people. 
As we see on a daily basis.
I’m getting really tired of people who think playing the game means spamming emotes in a twitch chat making the same thread over and over…
get rid of the shuffle aspect of it. Make it one round only, and make it queable as any group size. Similar to arena skirmish, but ranked. If you complain about having to play against a premade group, then have a look at every other popular game that has that exact model and has 10000X the participation that wow arenas do.

With roughly, what? 7 weeks to go in the season? Fix healer MMR - don’t let it be deflated compared to DPS MMR.
I would experiment more with different versions of arena/deathmatch.
There have been so many players over the years that tried getting into arena, wanted to play deathmatch on their wow characters, but got gated by: lack of healers, discord toxicity, their spec being off-meta.
It’s not hard to make an arena mode that gets those players in the game while still making the development focus ladder 3v3.
RSS isn’t it because it exaggerates the effect of both healer scarcity and fotm specs. There are so many possible ways to make a balanced deathmatch in wow. People plain quit on 3s ladder. They dislike so many things about rss but they play it because they can just queue from the pvp pane when playing solo.
Experiment more and find out what those players will actually enjoy and succeed in.
