What do you think
There literally is a cycle of rebirth with Ardenweald. Not everyone goes through it, but it’s there.
Yes! Being raised into undeath and joining the Forsaken is the highest form of rebirth, and reincarnation! Join us and you will find your own path in this world and slaughter anyone who stands in your way! Please, take a pamphlet!
“We trolls mate for life! Although, we also believe in frequent reincarnation.”
Its a wow joke, /silly. Paraphrasing but still
The Troll sillies suggest there “might” be some form of reincarnation, though what is frequently experienced by us the players and anyone who returns from the Emerald dream after being reinvigorated spiritually in Ardenweald is not reincarnation, just resurrection as in being brought back to life. We do not come back as someone else, we return in our old restored bodies, same with Forsaken unless the body part is someone else’s.
That was a recurring theme in Mists of Pandaria, in particular with the Jade Serpent.
Torga literally reincarnated before the players eyes along with Talanji and Tortollan.
I think after that it’s no longer a belief but rather a fact. Maybe some have the ability to do it while other don’t, but it’s still possible.
Outside of Wild Gods I don’t think we’ve ever seen it. And Wild Gods are more straight revival, not “reborn as a new person” reincarnation.
I don’t think so, not in the way real-life religions do. The belief only applies to Wild Gods, other races believe they end up somewhere but not reincarnated. The existence of ghosts and spirits that can communicate with mortals would rapidly disprove such a belief.
It may not be an all or one answer.
Such as when Swamp Thing visited Alec Holland in Heaven, he was a lot less willing to entertain the idea of reincarnation than his wife, given how violently his life had ended.
I don’t know what this is referencing, and I’m afraid to search.
Swamp Thing is a long running character in DC Comics. When he was first written, he was Alec Holland who was murdered along with his wife by a bayou crimelord trying to steal his secrets, his chemically contaminated body interacted with the swamp and he arose as a plant creature out for revenge.
Decades later Swamp Thing was retconned as the Black Panther of Plant Elementals who merely THOUGHT that he was Alec Holland since it was Holland’s body with that chemistry that set the stage for his incarnation as the latest Plant Elemental. In his first story he gets a brief visitation from the ghost of Alec Holland and later on Neil Gaiman would write a story where Swamp Thing visits Heaven and pays a call on Holland there who gives him advice on dealing with the mortal world. He also winds up visiting Hell for other reasons, but that’s another story.
The earlier part was essentially the modern author paying homage to the work of the character’s original creator.
Ah, that’s not as bad as I imagined.
You dirty mind you.
We see it with demons too.
Not sure what you’re asking exactly.
The game has many forms of reincarnation, not only in spell form, but fleshed out concepts with rules.
Demons have the Twisting Nether, Trolls have Loa, & all of it is getting expanded on in Shadowlands–which I guess is our Twisting Nether.
Though, only the Loa/Wild Gods get to leave the Shadowlands and return to the mortal world. We don’t know of any mortal that died and went to the Shadowlands and eventually came back. (The Spirit Healers grabbed our souls before we ever got there before this expac, so that doesn’t count)
