I was 16 and played horde in vanilla.
I switched to Alliance around after I finished college.
I started Alliance and will always remain Alliance I bleed blue and gold! Sadly the bulk of my old guild wanted horde so I have a toon there. And feel like I need a shower after each time I play it.
You dont saaaaaay
ThenâŚhow come they dont have Tauren or Undead children in the game? Huhhh?
Do they have troll or orc kids even?
Is the server economy like decently priced? With that many âstreamersâ and their base, I would of think that the economy would imploded.
I played alliance when I start in Vanilla back in 05.
Went horde at the end of MoP til BFA
Went back to Alliance at the start of classic with a 10 level shaman I was leveling and I am like ehh⌠nah.
Its why im there actually. Economy is incredibly active. There are more nonstreamer minded players than not but the added layer of drama is entertaining.
Getting $ for mount plus skills isnt even a thing. Id say its inflated compared to other servers which is great if you are a bit of a DIYer.
Crafting is pretty solid way to go due to constant demand especially pots. Lots of alting happens. Raids constant.
Healthy competition keeps common things low like bags. So its a volume thing. I can reliably post and sell 8 bags at a healthy margin, every day.
When I played vanilla at leastâŚ
Ages 5-15 played Alliance along with their parents and people 40+, Horde was played by Ages 15-40 from what I saw.
I dunno, just about everyone I knew on the Alliance side was 25+ during Vanilla. There were a few that were younger, but it was pretty rare.
Average age in our guild was probably about 28-30

There was next to no difference between the factions.
YeahâŚno. I played Horde from the end of vanilla through Draenor and Horde definitely has more younger players than Alliance. Hell, my mom and all her friends from her renaissance group have all played Alliance together for the last 15 years. Most of them are 60+ now.
Edited to add, I actually switched from Horde to Alliance because I was getting tired of constantly dealing with immature people on Horde side. I recently tried leveling up one of my Horde characters on retail because foxes are my favorite animal, so I want to unlock Vulpera. I did about 2 dungeons before I quit. Those groups were like sitting here listening to my teenagers bicker, kind of killed the fun for me.
This was probably never true, but I do remember this being said a lot back in the day.
At least until blood elves existed, then the forums talked a lot about how the kids all rolled Horde for pretty elves.
It seems like most people fail to understand a lot of 12-16 year olds wanted to be edgy and cool and that was entirely the Horde.
Again, it was probably never true, but that was what was commonly said back then. You seem to be upset that we canât go back in time and change what people used to say in the mid 2000s.
I get that.
Thatâs how I feel about Twinking.
Twinks ruin BGs for non-twinks.
It was true because I was one of those kids lol and as you play WoW, you talk to people.
We should probably give them time to process that before we let on that Classic and Retail players are the same people, too.
A lot of 12 year olds pick undead. Both sides have kids
If youâre talking to me specifically, Iâm not upset at all. Was trolling in a friendly way just to start a fun conversation. I think it worked
On my server it seems the horde has more of the âplays 18 hours a dayâ crowd while the alliance side seems to have jobs/responsibilities.
In most zones I observe more horde during off peak hours, then when it gets later in the afternoon the alliance population matches or exceeds the horde population while the horde encounters seem to be similar to 6 hours earlier.
I played horde 15 years ago. Now I play alliance to experience something different.
Both factions have scumbags and childish people. But there seem to be more of those sh!tty players on the horde side, at least from what I can see on my realm.
