In-Universe Music and Anthems

I found a pdf of the novel Wolfheart online, and somewhere there, it mentions, that Night Elf musicians were playing songs from the other races in the Alliance to entertain the guests, something vaguely like that.

If someone could find a page number that would be nice. But the point is, this got me thinking. Do we even know very many in-universe songs that the playable races have? What about national anthems? I don’t think this game has those. They weren’t around in medieval times, but this isn’t really medieval fantasy.

Star Wars Rebels canonized the imperial march by making it the official anthem of the empire. Would like something similar in WoW.

The Lament of the Highborne is an in-universe song, supposedly thousands of years old.

“Daughter of the Sea” has existed in-universe for a least a few decades and evolved separate sets of lyrics over time. Meerah obviously has her songs for her alpacas. ETC, Blight Boar, and “Power of the Horde” exist in-universe.

I’m not aware of anything confirming this as canon, but I would like to think that inn music is made up of local folk tunes. One of the things I like about ESO is how it’s common for taverns to have musician NPCs performing folk tunes that reflect the region they’re located in.

The Lok’osh sing, and are suggested to have always had songs for orcs but have only just now learned how to apply them magically.

Further expanding on Orcs, we have the concept of a “Lok’vadnod,” a song composed for a hero after their death. They’ve been mentioned here and there, and have their own wiki page. Would be a cool thing to revisit.

I knew the reason would make a thread like would be because of Wolfheart. Also the page is 166.(Chapter 14,the Worgen)
