I am so tired of the time gated pathfinder. In Legion when I didn’t work I had flying in like 10 days. In BFA with a full time job it took me over a month to complete part two and I was miserable the entire time I grinded it.

Yeppers, it’s real sassy to offer Heroic, comes with a flying mount, that can’t fly until before 9.2, sometimes before Dec 31 2021.
No thank you, not waiting for Pathfinder 2 again.
Perhaps it will also be a no-brainer, without shock value, to note there are many subs missing, and will be missing, that also have to interest in Pathfinder 2, again.
No worries, you’ll always have cross-realm, just not cross-faction.

If the Shadowlands is going to be the same old nonsense as BFA, where as a casual 70% of my time over 6 months is spent working on the ability to fly, I think I will pass as well.
It is not fun. I want my progression and time played to go towards gear upgrades. I should not have to start from scratch every single expansion on learning the ability to fly. No other mmorpg does this.

Actually it is a shock considering what a disaster BFA has been. You would think after all the negative feedback that they would want to change this feature (along with pretty much everything else that is BFA). Yes pathfinder is not the sole reason BFA sucked, but it sure was an extra kick in the pants on top of all the other nonsense.
Basically nothing is changing in Shadowlands except alt leveling and a few other small features. Its going to be tripling down on current features with Blizzard sticking their head even deeper into the sand.

even On these forums there’s a lot of separation between those that hate flying/pathfinder and those that support it.
Seeing as this is a small fraction of the millions of worldwide players that haven’t voiced their opinion - what made you think it was going away? Like just because you have a couple big threads doesn’t mean you’re gonna get your way
That said yeah I’m happy they’re keeping pathfinder and no flying. It didn’t break the game, makes the world feel bigger, and after unlocking flying via the achievement - felt rewarding because you realize how awesome flying is

Don’t be stupid. This game was more popular without pathfinder. People don’t want chores, they want meaningful progression.
No other mmorpg has pathfinder. So to say that if you don’t want to waste your time on it means you should not play mmorpgs is one of the derpiest things I have ever read.

IF you only play 2 hours per week, it’d still have to be on 2 separate days, waiting on the timegates to reset, after an hour of playtime.
Maybe this MMO is not for us… notice the trend yet, people missing.

Pathfinder is okay. It’s a bit of a slog, but as I’ve said before, if the content is good, then it’s worth seeing on foot; if the content is bad, flying won’t save it.
If you want to fly that badly, there are games with airplanes in it, you can play those.

They could have did something differently. I can understand Blizzards position, but they could have made things a lot more palpable. Pathfinder is obnoxious, and grinding rep every day for months is not my idea of fun in this way. Perhaps the old WotLK tabard/dungeon grind or other options could be presented. I did not find Mechagon all that fun. I know a lot of people liked it, but I did not.
I guess it didn’t help that I disliked all of BFA though, I was just not motivated at all to grind rep with these two factions just like I had to in WoD. Taking systems from Xpac’s people hated is not a good way to get them to get them motivated.
Blizzard seems to not have figured this out yet, “No more AP grind” Now we have “Anima” instead. Ok, so we now have Anima Power… That is so much different, right? Let’s see, how should we abbreviate that, I got it… A… P…

Pathfinder is fine.
The Timegating that comes with it is what is poop.
Let me do it at my own pace, when I have time to play, and I’d think Pathfinder is downright wonderful.

I agree for the most part, but, I would like to see it more as when you complete all the quest, complete the raids of the current content, and maybe a reasonable gold cost you can unlock flying.
