In relation to #NoChanges... Hear me out

Hello all.

I’d like to introduce the idea of implementing a barber shop of sorts and I think I have a decent idea of a “classic” style way to put it into the game that most people would be happy about or at least okay with.

I think adding in a barber shop 24/7 in-city like retail would definitely take away of the feel of what many of us remember to be Vanilla WoW. Old Org is not Old Org if it has a barber shop in it. So I’m not advocating for that. BUT, something like having an NPC in the Barrens/Elwynn Forest that pats those zones once or twice a year, maybe during a holiday, for a max of one week (allowing those with busy IRL schedules to make time to go FIND the NPC [Like Rexxar]) would keep to the theme of Classic WoW well enough to not have any real amount of negative feedback. I know I don’t speak for myself exclusively when I say I regret the style choices I made for my main character.

Before I hear any “No! #NoChanges”, understand that we’ve had a number of changes already for example: Black Lotus spawn timers (a fair change, but a change none-the-less that had an impact on the economy of each individual server), another example being the recent 30/day instance lock (again, a fair change due to botters, but a change none-the-less). No wall jumping is a change as well that consumed many many hours of our lives in Vanilla… so the game is has not been without change already.

Even if the NPC only appeared as a one-time deal, as I know we may never see a barber shop again otherwise unless Blizz re-releases TBC and THEN WoLK as well.

Lastly, if nothing I have said yet has convinced you it is okay to implement it… I offer one last logical truth: Cutting hair, and dying it is not new-age technology. If we can be in a world full of magic, dragons, and fully build up cities, public transportation (boats, zepps)… surely someone has discovered you can make hair shorter by putting something sharp to it… or dying your hair similar to how we already have dye in the game for tailoring/leather-working. Thoughts?

Yeah, those changes are a problem and need to be undone.

No changes.

You say that, but there have been plenty of changes already and they aren’t going to be reversed.

Whether a person is for changes or not, putting a two word answer with no explanation or reasoning as to why is lazy and about as good as spam.

Arguments require structure.

How about this:

“World of Warcraft Classic is a faithful recreation of the original World of Warcraft”

Seems good to me. At least it expresses why you believe so. You wish for it to be original as possible.

Correct. I wish for it to be what was advertised.

Not being a jerk but retail is right there and you already have a sub. You can dress up however you want on it. That stuff wasn’t a part of the game at this point and shouldn’t be in it.

It’s a literally proven slippery slope. Again retail is right there to prove it. Any changes like that undermine the very idea of classic.

This would require a degree of effort better used elsewhere.

That’s what people said about the separation of East and west battle groups.

:cactus:

Another example of the slippery slope that I was told doesn’t exist.

I just don’t get how that is literally always the argument they use.

Be more careful when you make your character so that you don’t need to change it later.

That doesn’t mean they were good changes

there are already changes … whi cares at this point.

30 instance limit is one of the most nonclassic things that could have ever been put into place.

At this point the nochanges crowd can rightfully piss off

Authentic recreation.
#nomorechanges.

No changes.

I plan to play out Classic by the design intentions that were made clear from the beginning. I wish to replay out the old system, warts and all.

I care.

So down. And seriously, changing your hair was a thing. If it isn’t, can all the females go ahead and have knee-length hair?
