In queue for over 5 hours for a Cata dungeon

This can’t be normal. Why is this happening? It was 3:50 AM when I queued. It’s 9:10 AM now.

because cata is not current content?

Should probably drop queue way before that and/or relog and stuff.

I’ve never heard of something like this ever unless the queue says “Unavailable” and is something that has no real queues.

A variety of reasons. A lot of people are playing new content. You queued at dead hours. No one is leveling. People that are leveling are questing in cata because it’s faster. The game is dying. yadda yadda

I’ve found that most players don’t think to change dungeon finder from Pandaria to Cata.

Where are you located? 3:50 AM, most people are asleep, and it’s a Monday morning at that. I would not be shocked if there are not many Cata-level players during that time frame.

Welp, queue popped after five hours and a half. Tank decided he was going to pull a “YOU’RE NOT MY DAD” and killed himself five times rather than follow simple directions like “Pull the elementals first”. I left. I hated it. I’m going to wait until 11 AM and order some poutine then get drunk and go to bed.

@OP Funny story with Cata dungeons, you know all those complaints about ability pruning?
Well, most players don’t even use half the stuff in their spellbooks as it is, and in these dungeons, a lot of the utility abilities come quite in handy.
But, you know, such is the playerbase, instead of binding stuff they need, just skip it altogether :stuck_out_tongue:

Dungeons are no longer what they used to be in terms of exp gains, you gain a lot more of exp completing quests so people stopped queuing for cata dungeons and MoP dungeons.

If I remember correctly you can reach level 90 after 2 or 3 hours of questing around Jade forest or mount hyjal.

And, if you really want to get in dungeons faster, you better don’t try to queue as DPS. The amount of people questing and queuing as DPS offsets the number of healers/tanks greatly.

Ignore cata dungeons. Everyone’s doing panda ones.

Do the Pandaria ones. No one trusts one another to do Cata dungeons well.

You’re running on American time, on American servers, wondering why at 3:50am no one is online to run dungeons…

Most people are sleeping at 3:50am.

I suppose my biggest question is, whats your secret? How can this game entertain you for a stretch of 5 solid hours?

I alt-tab and do something else in the meantime. Also, I did the bonfires.

Yea I made sure to spam the fires before the season ends. Managed to get all the toys but still couldn’t afford the pets even though I grinded across 3 toons.

I realize that this post was written 3 days ago, but at this moment the group finder is, like, empty. Because it’s a holiday.

Because leveling via dungeons isn’t as efficient anymore.

Plus cata dungeons have the worst reward/effort ratio
