Not too long ago, I discovered the night elf paladin Delas Moonfang. And the blood elves within The Botanica harness somewhat druidic power. Are there any other race/class combination in lore that cannot be done in-game? Are there ones that would make sense to add? In my opinion, humans should be able to be druids.
Gilnean Paladins since the Light is worshiped in the country and their Brigade had Paladin units. There shouldnāt be a lore restriction for them. I wish we could see that reflected in the modern Gilneas Brigade and by extension the Worgen faction. In Hearthstone we even see a Worgen paladin.
A couple.
Kul Tiran Paladins.
Worgen paladins, as Cemeron mentioned above.
Anyone can be a warlock / mage. Well, not Magāhar Orcs / Lightforged Draenei about being warlocks because that kinda defeats the point, but other than that.
Monks. For. Everyone.
More directly, itās annoying Lightforged donāt have them, as theyāre the only allied race who donāt get monks, and two of their very few NPCs are distinctly monk-esque.
Dracthyr warrior apparently, going by the last Legacies short which had them in plate armor and spears.
Gilnean ⦠not necessarily Worgen.
Iām in a weird spot for such open situations.
The Blood elves havenāt shown a connection to the Emerald Dream YET while we slew one druidic foe but the Nightborne are consuming energies from the Emerald Dream to cure their addiction.
The Warlock Highmountain Tauren is inaccessible as our class since theyāre an enemy tribe but there has always been a Tauren Rogue to which Stormhoof has been the messager and mailman from Baine to Jania or Anduin.
Connection to the Dream isnāt necessarily a prerequisite. Just as Cenarius and his teachings are not the exclusive gateway to the Druidic arts. The Drust for example, do quite well without. As did generations of Gilnean Harvest Witches.
Trolls only became druids recently because the Loa were trapped and doomed to the Emerald Dream by Zalazane and rescued because Gonk was the only one willing to train his students in listening to nature magic.
Pretty much explains the Night elves and Tauren as they practiced this craft culturally. Highmountain Tauren do pass down their gift of Cenarius.
They are ancient druids with two entrances to the Emerald Nightmare with Thros and Fateās End. Thereās even some remains of past Night elves and Vrykul on Mechagon Isle.
Their magic is considered⦠beneath druids. They were only really druids when the druidic cursed Worgen turned them into Worgen.
edit: Harvest Witches may have a power similar to Quilboar and Gnolls.
Which was only antlers
Yeah though it is the Horns of Echeāro-- a moose favored by Malorne. Wonder why he wasnāt Grove Warden? That wouldāve been neat having huge glowing horns and it couldāve paralleled the glowy Lightforged.
Now I wonder if Night Elves can have a gift related Lady Sathrah-- probably shouldnāt inspire a second Falanaar.
Undead Paladin.
Thereās of course Sir Zelik but the Scarlet Risen have a bunch of them in Tyrās Hand.
Iāve mentioned before this would be the perfect excuse for them. The Forsaken absorbing the Scarlet Risen would put a nice little bow both on the Scarletās arc and Lilian Vossās. Itād also wave away the ever pointless logistical population concerns for awhile.
And the best part is no matter how you want to approach the lore ex Scarlet Forsaken Paladins tracks. As if weāre going with the āitās agonizing for the undead to useā grimdark angle - well theyāre frothing at the mouth zealots. Theyād be into that.
Plus with the white bonesteeds weāve a preexisting model for their crusader steed. Just slap some black stripes on the caparison and weāre golden.
