I propose a unique fourth spec for shaman, a special role which would make them very, very different.
Give us a shaman that tanks via their elementals.
After all, some shaman specs have earth elementals and it’s completely useless anyway (except when I’m tanking and for some reason the resto shaman decides I don’t deserve to hold aggro anymore), so why not give that big stone daddy some actual use?

Sounds interesting, but unless you control the elemental directly, there could be problems with orienting the bosses correctly. Now if shaman got the necessary taunts and threat generation (almost there), and add in a super earth shield, tanking as a shaman sounds good.

It immediately draws aggro off the tank, giving them some breathing room should they get overwhelmed for a couple secs. As well as buying the healer time.
Indeed. And if your tank is smart he won’t taunt back or try and get aggro back. Just let the literal rock eat the damage, it’s fine
I’ve suggested many times that Shaman tanks should use elements for protection.
They’d coat themselves with one of the four elements and each would protect better against different things, direct attacks, aoe, magic, nature. They could swap between “coatings” at will during a fight. They’d still use totems for buffs but would not have any temp “pets” like other Shaman specs do.
It would be a very fun, challenging, and unique mechanic for tanking.

Thankfully most tanks are thankful to have a shaman around with greater earth ele, I’ve been asked to summon him and I have used him to eat unnecessary white damage while dishing out damage and knocking enemies back with its pulverize ability.
I would instantly level a Shaman if I heard Earthwarden shamans would be implemented.
That’s what they said about Classic, so as David Wallace would say: “suck it”.
Shamans are a cool kid’s club, only OG shamans can have access to earthwarden
they gave ww monk and frost dk 2nd back while enhance was one of the few 2hd classes at wows launch…thay wont give 2hd back im more excited for 2nd frost dk.
