Hey y’all! I’m having a problem with in-game voiceovers. My best example would be during the “stay a while and listen” option on some NPCs. When I swivel my camera, the voiceover fades into the background like it’s coming from behind me. It gets so low, I cannot hear it. What option, if any, turns that off? I can’t seem to figure it out. Thanks!
Options > Audio > Distance Filtering
Thank you. That has been unchecked all this time though. I will experiment with it checked and see if that makes a difference.
Could also try playing with the Sound_ListenerAtCharacter
CVar
It’s enabled (1) by default.
/console Sound_ListenerAtCharacter 0
Can also bump up you Dialog volume or, if it’s already maxed, reduce the other stuff then increase the overall volume of your system.
Thanks for the suggestions. I really do appreciate it. The problem is, I end up either getting blasted by dialog or dead silence if I turn my camera. I’m always swinging my camera around and it’s driving me nuts when the dialog goes silent.
ETA: The distance filtering option does not work.
This could be a Windows sound setting.
Not really related but if npc voices matter to you I very strongly recommend “Quest Reader Addon” off Curse Forge.
