So, while watching a rom-com film about gamers meeting up in real life, the in-game side of the film got me thinking. In their game, the main characters got married and were able to complete a in-game spouse quest. I personally think this would be kind of cool in wow. Quests that you can only complete with your in-game spouse for special rewards. (The film is Love o2o on Netflix. It does have a tv show too, be warned it’s in Mandarin so if you chose to watch it and don’t speak the language there are subtitles.)
Is there an in game divorce quest?
In the film, there is a divorce option too. I just think it could be interesting in the role play side of things.
I met my wife in a game called Dark Ages way back in the early 2000’s and it had a full fledged system of religions that offered marriage/divorce along with other services and perks. I can’t really remember all of the details but I know it came with a legend mark and I believe a few unique quests around Valentines day. I wouldn’t mind having something like that in WoW.
Some sort of relationship system is something I’d like to have in an MMO alo gside player housing.
FFXIV has one but I have yet to try it. The MMO I played that I took part in was Ragnarok Online. Both partners had to gather materials to craft their wedding outfits with an NPC. You put it on, go to the church to do the ritual, and the rings on both toons turn into wedding rings. They even had a honeymoon zone only accessible by married toons.
While you wear the rings, you had perks like heals and buffs for your partner, the ability to teleport them to your location, and a shareable mount.
I like that idea of having it around Valentie’s day but I do also like the idea of player housing. When they introduced the building of the arena in Ice Crown, I loved knowing that we were apart of the building. It wasn’t just placed there. I go back to the tourney grounds a lot, not just because of the pets and mounts but because I like to see the place that me and my friends helped build. Sentimental I know but some of those people are no longer playing wow, one even passed away so going back there is my way of remembering them.
I am interested in this too, if you wanna hook up in game let me know , just respond.
