With classic released, there should be some overlap of collections. Say for instance you find a pet in classic , it should be added to your account collection. Same with appearances and mounts.
Would also like to see some in game rewards for retail players for playing classic.

There is no, and will be no overlap between Classic and Retail.
The only incentive for playing Classic is that you want to play Classic.
Not that you want to play Classic to get things for your Retail main.

I 100% support making WoW classic more like modern WoW.
But no. It has been stated somewhere that they’re not going to be connected at all.

Reread my statement again. They don’t want people from retail playing Classic just to earn new transmogs. They only want people that WANT to play Classic to play Classic.

I don’t care. I’m just telling you what they said. Argue with them but you have your answer: No.
I certainly wouldn’t mind being able to earn old transmogs that I missed out on. But for the time being they aren’t going to allow any account wide collections tied to Classic. If the demand is high enough though they might. The devs are all about that “time played”, and it would give people that much more incentive to sub and keep playing.
