In Game Casinos, not a violation?

I’m seeing a bunch of people doing this and I am curious. Reporting them doesn’t seem to do anything.

How does it work exactly?

Pretty sure they banned casinos back around 2005.

I thought this was the case but, there are people on my realm doing this and using in-game toys as means to do part of the casino betting/rolling.

How it works - From what I see is you put up your gold to join the dice roll. Call out a number, or higher or lower and then they roll the Dwarven Dice toy to do the rolling of 2d6. Either you win and double the coin, ,or lose and get nothing.

Technically, not against the rules.

HOWEVER, and it is a big however, they can’t advertise them and can’t run scams.

Advertising would get them suspended or banned. Scamming would too. It is an unsupported transaction so the scammed person would not get their money back, but Blizz would go after the scammer.

Just report them when you see them advertising.

Alright, would reporting them for the spam of the dice being rolled and/or them shouting out winner / loser?

They have to be advertising to be against the rules. If the dice roll is generated by the item, then it is not against the rules. If they are calling win/lose in local /say then that would not be against the rules.

Spamming it in Trade or General would be. Advertising the casino in any channel would be as well.

Mira, if you get reported enough times in the forums and permanently banned from the forums, does it affect your account in the game? Does that make sense?

Not normally. In-game penalties can impact posting on the forums (esp if it results in your sub being removed), but not the other way around.

The exception would be if someone did something egregious and/or illegal and Blizz just straight banned their whole Battlenet account.

Okay. Thank you for taking the time to tell me.

I really want to make a post about a company that I wish did a line in lieu of the next expansion coming out but I’m thinking it will get reported.

Why report them tho? How would this matter to anybody?

Why does anything like this matter to anyone. God only knows.

Then you might not want to do that. Esp if you think it is going to get you a perma ban on the forums. It does not sound like it would be constructive and helpful.

But it’s funny and truthful. My last ban was 3 months. Would the next one be six?

I’m betting even God in Heaven is up there scratching his head at this wondering where he went wrong.

Possibly. It is up to the Moderators. Penalties do tend to increase in duration.

Okay thank you for the information.

I mean people used to place bets on people dueling outside orgrimmar back in the day and that was okay, so I imagine other types of betting being fine so long as it ain’t shady scam stuff

How about some Murloc Slots…? That’d be cool right?!

Like, instead of releasing DF, they pull out the credit card , mirror and powdered sugar?? …what?
