In Blizzards defense, we have been under a Pandemic for the last 7 months

I think it’s pretty amazing that we’re still able to get the expansion we were promised at the usual Fall release time.
Seriously, think about how much covid-19 screwed the workplace environment up. I am grateful that we still get our expansion this fall, because I honestly didn’t expect it until 2021.

I’m not getting a choice of Covenants, that I can pick based on the aesthetics, I’m getting a Math problem to solve that will eventually point at the Covenant I must use.

All because the game just isn’t fun at lower levels. So no, I’m not getting what I was promised.

IT and gamers thrive during these times :+1:

I would have rather them pushed back the release and have a solid product at launch

But I guess we’ll see what we get at launch

they adapted to work from home within 3 days, and hows that an excuse for no communication ?

It would have been more amazing if they waited until the expansion was completed. Even in a pandemic they care more about money than about the game. For a company that is already so wealthy, it’s sad to see such greed.

why? designers and developers literally work on their computers all day and they can have all the zoom/skype meetings they need remotely. what would require them to be in the office? if anything this should have given them more time to work on things.

Exactly. But judging from the forums these people are clueless to what is going on in the world and have 0 development knowledge as it takes more time working from home no matter how many zoom meetings you have vs being in the office together.

But for a lot of these people on the forums (especially those crying about a pre-patch that is only a few days less in shortness from all other pre-patches) are all about “Me me me me”.

Are you trying to be positive and recognise genuine achievements made by the company despite our current circumstances?

we don’t do that here :face_with_monocle:

Deciding to do a math problem in itself is your choice. You could choose to go with aesthetics instead. It won’t stop you from any achievements.

That said, the community you are with might stop you, but the choice itself will not.

My company has nothing to do with gaming or software and we were able to easily switch to working from home. Shouldn’t be a big deal for blizzard regardless of their software/hardware requirements.

Not for the level of content I find enjoyable.

But then I wouldn’t be enjoying playing the game in content that I find trivial.

This is such a tired argument from the “I got mine…” crowd. We get it, you guys hate having to optimize your toons and don’t really care about the people you group with.

Huh?

CDC defines it as an epidemic that becomes widespread affecting a whole region, continent or the world due to a susceptible population. A true pandemic has a high degree of mortality.

Wait. We’re getting a cookie cutter expansion remarkably like the last one, with some extra bad things in it to annoy us, and you’re blaming Covid?

The mortality rate in the overall population has been greatly reduced by the lockdown and the fact that many (but not all) people are taking common sense measure to avoid spreading the disease.

That’s not completely accurate. There is a difference between intentionally not performing your best vs. not performing with what you have in front of you. I try my absolute best to not hold back groups, as I hate being carried, but I play with “non-optimal” gear and talents, because I enjoy it, and ends up performing better than taking the so called optimal stuff (which is almost always determined based on mythic level gear, which I won’t have for weeks anyway).

The fact is, every achievement, Cutting Edge included, will be completable with whatever covenant you choose. There is a minimum amount of healing/damage reduction/damage output required by the raid as whole, and every ability will capable of enabling that (if not, that’s when blizzard steps in and adds buffs). The rest is whether you are skilled enough to perform mechanics, and not assume out dpsing them is the only way to win.

Is that you, Ralph?

Not everyone wants to be the dead wood that causes the group to pull more.

There’s a reason Survival Hunters don’t do prog on Mythic N’zoth, and all their very limited number of parses are on farm kills, and their performance is 20-30% lower than BM…

At the cutting edge level, especially anything but the last tier of an expansion, you won’t find lots of guilds willing to support you at “not your best”.
