In a weird place in the game....feels empty

So been working on my dk the last couple of months. Been working on reps, gear ( LFR/M0 nothing to high), ect. So decided to really blast the reps to get all the unlocks ect. But seems like I’ve found myself in a very weird place. With nothing really to do and stuck waiting on reps. on weekly/mid week reset ect.

So currently I have done pretty much every quest I can find. I have run everything non-stop as a human and with the darkmoon buff running. An Now seems like if i want to progress at all in the game. My only option is to either endlessly grind dung. or raids. Which don’t get me wrong is a huge part of the game. But Something i really have no interest in. As far as im concerned once i lfr and m0 dung. There is no point to do more. I have no interest in spending hours in the same place doing the same thing, only to get the same reward. But thats not here or there or the point im trying to get at. SInce in the end its just my own personal opinion, and like all opinions only holds value to myself.

But the point im at is… It just feels soooo boring that the only options im left with to progress in the games quest story line. Is to either just keep waiting on weekly/mid-week quest in some point in time in the future to actually add up to the rep i need to continue. Or to just spend endless hours running the same dung/raid again and again but on just slightly harder difficulty. To farm tokens to turn in for the rep i need to unlock the story… Just makes the game feel empty. Like theres nothing else to do. I’ve flown around an picked up pretty much every quest i can find. I spent hours flying around trying to pick up explore bags, chest ect. for rep tokens. But even that is bugged for most of the bags ect. behind a quest that can only be picked up by 1 toon from the climbing group…

So just feel stuck. Like my only options is grind dung/raid or just keep making alts. cause theres nothing else to do. Like I log on my dk and theres just nothing to do but sit in some major town and stare at the screen blankly lol.

So guess im complaining/ranting/seeking advice. On maybe things to do, things i might of missed ( The game is quite big and there are some things hidden ect. So quiet possibly i could of easily missed something.) SO figured I would see if anyone was stuck or had the same experience ect.

An yea just a fyi since im sure someone will mention it. There is PvP, but my god I suck soooooo bad at it. Its not even funny hahaha. An never really had much interest in it. So pretty much stayed away other then random bgs here and there. An yea thats just always a cluster mess to put it nicely lol.

So many posts like this time to find a new game my friend eventually we all get bored of the same ole thing.

Me Im currently in another MMO even though I have a subscription to this expansion for 14 days.

Truly I feel as though its not worth the money anymore for a monthly fee used to be but the game has gone downhill its buggy its laggy and overall its story telling is not that great.

If they make a better product maybe ill return

Quality is not like it used to be I dont know what changed but I see it to.

There’s those Elemental Storms you can do. Feasts in Iskaara and Valdrakken.

You can farm/raid Obsidian Keep (I think that’s what it’s called) where you get the keys for either Sabellian or Wrathion.

There’s a lot of stuff to do ingame that awards higher ilvl gear, toys, etc… here’s a vid I saw on it.

May not apply to you, Idk as I didn’t check your armoury but if you have alts, maybe. Either way, just an idea.

What a fun grind circle splash dance lmao

I’m not grinding. I just do stuff where I think something fun and funny might happen.

If I get something for it, then great but it is what it is. This has got to last a couple years yet so they’ll probably put in more systems, more currencies for more stuff to get.
SSDD.

But it is funny because everyone sucks at pvp. Just different levels of sucking.

Yea I do all those things. The feast, invasions ect. An already have seb maxed out with the key grind. So no point grinding Wrathion the same. Already got all the customization for my drake, and both there toys. Mainly just trying to get the rest of the reps up. But some just give soooo little xp even stacking human/dm buff just barely get anything.

As far as when it comes to PvP. I find myself being way to competitive in there and getting mad/irriatted at people. Which just sucks the fun out of it. But thats on my end not blaming others. So mostly avoid something i know will just irk me.

Because alot of the time played early on was the leveling experience which has been cut down to very little time required. The story is completely optional now and primarily gated behind reputation, which doesnt feel good or fun.

Said it once say it a thousand times.

Take the old content pill.

Go do old dailies, Argent Tournament, old raids, pet battles, fish, and other things. Just see the world, old content, find things you like and such. Find a cool mount, see how to get it, make a list then go farm them. Stuff like that. It’s what I do and I like it a lot.

Also its not making sense. Prove yourself to us! I killed the jailor who would have uncreated you (the npc mobs that we work for that is). what more do you want?

They, imo, need to find better hooks to bait time played over weeks. and to get people to run the sames content again and again.

My retail hunter still sees the need renown for part 2 of story. Been there since week 2. It will still be there till removed probably in 10.3.

She pvp’s. I’d say at least let me work off some renown in pvp really. SL did. that at least got that bit right.

This is the problem with soulless theme park games like Wow. They’re devoid of community, so you run out of content and need the devs to spoon feed you more.

phasing has killed a ton of social interaction at least for me

Dragonflight was fun but we’ve done and seen what we wanted. M+ and the never ending ilvl grind is trash now.

Im playing Red Dead 2 and most likely Hogwarts till Forbidden reach comes out.

The game is full of life you just don’t see anyone because they’re all doing m+.

WoW uses the same flawed method as Facebook. They feel that they can do almost anything because most people wont leave it while their friends still in, and their friends the same, so it creates a “superficial tension” that glues people in things they are not enjoying.

The problem is when it is so bad one goes, then everyone start going as well.

This is a hallmark of anything that enjoys greate sucess and sits on it thinking it will never end.

You found the rotten core of The Grind, friend.

It’s weird cause I felt kinda the same after like 3 days of hitting cap. Constantly saying “what am I even supposed to be doing?”

Thought about quitting multiple times myself but only because I’ve done all content that I’ve set out to do and I don’t really like some of the changes in DF. (eg the new profession and talent changes)
Longest I’ve went without playing WoW was a year.

Anyway, unlike how DF was marketed or hyped up by blizz or the numerous streamers.
WoW like a lot of the other MMOs will always end up being a grindfest.

There will be players who think or claim otherwise. But I have always believed that how grindy any expansion is, is more from the players own perspective and goals rather than an actual act of being forced into.

As per my post in another thread, you could always choose not to grind and still be able to play the game and have fun. And this holds true even for the past expansions.

As a disclaimer, I am perfectly fine with grinding and I actually find it fun to grind, but even so I have never felt I was forced to.

This is just a game, and what I find fun is the act of playing it. If I get bored, I can always just quit and find another game to play, which I have done before.

I dont need to do kickass damage, be in the top 100 in the world or have the rarest mount before I find the game fun. Though it wouldn’t hurt if I did achieve these benchmarks as a bonus.

If you expect blizz to just hand you the end game goodies and perks and give you equivalent power when compared to the other players who actually grind, without you having to grind yourself. Then unfortunately you are in for a nasty wake up call.

Hopefully, the tons of threads like this 1 would give you a reality check.

Straight up it sounds like you burned yourself out doing the most passive, non-challenging, grindy, repetitive content in the game.

When missing a mechanic can kill you or your party, when your damage output has a real impact on whether or not you succeed - the content very rarely feels repetitive even though you are in the same instance. It’s incredibly fun. This game has so much depth to the gameplay to enjoy when you step up from the stuff that provides no challenge or threat of failure whatsoever.
