I would rather pick improving the overall of the game besides focusing on the login screen. And let’s be honest here having a simple login screen would save them a lot of development time on crucial aspects of the game and refining those aspects will be more important. Then, say on the login screen which is less important.
I mean it comes down to the team who actually change how the work are the designers and devs.
The team who change how the loading screen work are the artists.
Blizzard aren’t going to be making the artists code or the developers draw.
You do realize these aren’t the same teams, right?
I think the login screen is fine, btw. But this is a nonsensical discussion due to the way development and different departments work.
The Dark Portal log in screen was peak.
The art team needs to get on spec balance ASAP!
Best login was the Wrath one because you could race the dragon and login before the FWOMP FWOMP ROAAAAAR blew out your speakers.
I would be interesting to know how much it cost to improve the login screen, man hours and $$.
I don’t think either will happen
This keeps getting brought up. I haven’t seen anything about people complaining about a login screen. If they are, just ignore them and move on.
It’s mostly on Twitter, but it’s the same group of people who complain about everything regarding WoW.
Cause realistically if you’re logging in through battlenet, youre looking at the login screen for like 3 seconds anyway. Who cares if it’s boring?
Oh twits. Yeah, social media is a mistake.
I think the point is how well are resources (time, $$) being used to improve gameplay. I think some people are indeed saying, “We don’t care about how the login screen looks, can you instead use resources to make the actual game good.”
Which goes back to my first point of the people who’d fix the login screen aren’t the same people who’d be making the “game better”.
Devs and Artists aren’t inherently exchangeable.
You didn’t understand my post.
[edit]
If the artists need to do their art, improve it in the actual game and leave the login screen alone. lol
I mean it depends entirely what they’re working on.
Not every project is the same priority, if it were a big issue (I don’t think it is either, but theoretically) there’s a dozen different things the artists could work on later cause I’d imagine that a login screen is one of the more important artworks in an expansion, alongside the loading screens.
Yeah, it’s just a priority question. I’m wondering if it has some connection to warbands, though I’m not following much about the new xpac.
Nah, I just think it was a concept that landed flat with a decent amount of players.
Execution seems fine, it’s just boring.
Lazy blizzard just doesn’t care!! It’s a slap in the face!!
