We’ve actually been talking about that topic on the Post 4th War thread.
But, no … if the Horde were to pick up Stranglethorn then it would come in the form of the Gurubashi falling in line behind the Zandalari; just as it appears the Amani and Farraki seem to be doing with those new Troll customization options.
The Darkspear would never return to Stranglethorn. The Darkspear Isles, their ancestral homes, are gone. They’ve fought brutally to reclaim their new homes on the Echo Isles twice. They’re Kalimdor Trolls permanently from now on I’d guess.

I don’t know why but I’m also thinking that it would cool if the Night Elves regained their immortality with what could happen in Ardenweald. I think that after all of the the stuff they have gone through, that would be really cool to see happen. I doubt it since all of the dragon aspects and stuff but it would be nice!

Even if it is the Gurubashi instead of the Darkspear, it is still two more zones.
Your count had it at 26 to 22. The Stranglethorn zones make it 26 to 24. Dustwallow wasn’t included and The forsaken or Trolls settling in and rebuilding Theramore brings it to 26 to 25.
We are left looking at what: Badlands, Blasted Lands, Burning Steppes, Desolace, Swamp of Sorrows, and Stonetalon?
Zone counts aren’t really an appropriate way to look at things, in my opinion. Northern and Southern Barrens together are as large as Moonglade, Darkshore, Felwood, and half of Ashenvale combined, for example.
I think Amadis had a better concept for a “future Azeroth” territorial breakdown. The Kalimdor Horde should be allowed to pick up Dustwallow Marsh; Thousand Needles; Tanaris; and Ungoro on the continent. Especially if the Farraki are joining, which they seem to be by the customization options. Stonetalon, Desolace, and Faralas all remain neutral between Tauren/NEs.
On EK, the Horde should be allowed to pick up The Plaguelands and the still un-implemented “Northern Lordaeron” zone. Especially if the Amani are joining. Those territories are the only overland route between two Horde nations, they should already have them. Then the Gurubashi and ST to the south. The SoS and Blasted Lands will remain neutral territories as well.
This would net the Horde plenty of breathing room, resources, and even out territorial control. The Alliance holds 26 Zones; the Horde moves from 15 to 24. The only group that “might” have their toes stepped on in this is the Argents, and even then only if they continue to have the expectation that they are curing the Lordaeron territories for Human Alliance resettlement.
However, the benefits of allowing the Alliance and Horde to get plenty of breathing space from one another; as well as plenty of lands and resources to rebuild; far outweighs the Argents having to shift their goals just a little bit. As a reperation, the Alliance picks up Hillsbrad; the Horde keep Alterac. Just so the Allies can have an overland route between SG and Gilneas.

To note, I still disagree with Droité about Dustwallow.
LOL, true, that you do. But, I’m going to include it because Dustwallow is more than just Theramore. Horde aligned Ogres live there. Several bands of Grim Totem live there, and if I ever want to see Jevan become their new leader … they’re included. Mudsprocket is there as well. All of these are potential pickups for the Horde, from a zone that you consider unsalvagable.
I don’t consider the place unsalvageable.
I just don’t like the place.

Right, so you dont need to go there anymore if it becomes Horde Aligned! Hell, even the intro to Mudsprocket has the Horde approaching that town out of altruistic reasons; while the Alliance is exclusively looking to open up trade negotiations for Theramore. Welp, Theramore is gone, but Mudsprocket remains. Maybe we’ll get a few Gobs following in Gazlowe’s footsteps.

I think you’ve overlooking the logic that if things can be rebuilt there so could Theramore, and then it would just be shared again any way. There’s no way Baine and Thrall or anyone who followed Saurfang there would claim the place for the Horde.
I’d rather it go to no one.
There is no impetus to rebuild Theramore. None. Jaina has returned home. Reconnected with her lost family. Her lost people. Hell, she’s now a world leader on a Global stage, of one of the most powerful Nations on Azeroth. She has absolutely zero reason beyond blind nostalgia to return to that swamp and vainly attempt to rebuild something that can never truly be rebuilt. And if Jaina wont do it, then no one will … and bluntly … no one should.
that is why i think that derek will go there he neeed a home after all.
he can’t be on kultiras or he will be murdered on the spot by the people.
You do remember that Theramore was built as a home for the living Humans fleeing Lordaeron, right? While we’re talking about giving the Plaguelands to the Horde? There’s your impetus. Jaina having a home to go back to doesn’t mean the people of Theramore did. Jaina didn’t actually represent them any more than Sylvanas did the Forsaken.

Rebuild Darnassus, Gilneas, Theramore, and Southshore before the Stormwind refugee problem becomes untenable.

Be nice if they put out the fire of Sentinel Hill, too, since that’s where we saw the largest problem last time for homelessness from Stormwind.
